I came in to buy some products to do a silk press on myself and I was a little nervous off the reviews, but I’m new to Az an this location is right next to my house! As soon as I walked in The security guard Don, immediately welcomed me in and asked if I was looking for anything and directed me to the back of the store where all of the salon products was located! With me being ethnic and I seen some complaints about security overly watching women of my ethnicity I decided to test that theory and look back and see if he was watching me, & in fact he was facing the front an greeting a whole new customer & making his rounds. I approached the back and ran into LaRae, she was so kind and informative on hair products especially for my type of hair! I was really impressed that this store had a nice diversity of sales representatives and salon stylist!! I was so lost with everything and end up asking if she was available to do it herself and she end up booking me immediately and getting me in her chair. A few co workers stopped in to talk and complement me on my hair. It was just like back home going to the salon, welcoming & laughter environment! By the time she was done with my silk press my hair was more soft than I’ve ever felt it because of a new product they was promoting that month, that was a silk mass for dehydrated hair which was something I was looking for especially from being natural for a year and I wanted to try straightening my hair but wanted to be smart about it, well LaRae definitely helped me accomplish my look, information how to care better for my hair and even got me in and out in a timely manner!! Then she even showed me all the products she used so I could take pictures and come back to buy them when I came back from vacation. Felishs checked me out and was very kind as well! The security guard happened to be making his rounds around the store and ran into me again as I was leaving and complimented me on my hair and thanked me for coming to the store. I highly recommend this store location!! & for others with more ethnic hair who are looking for a stylist LaRae was perfect!! Read moreI was just unpacking my bag of goodies from Ulta and I started to smile. My adventure was epic. What I really wanted was a haircut, but what I got was so much more. Felicia, the shift manager, greeted me at the door. She asked if I had any questions. Boy, I had questions. My eyebrows turned grey and I look old. When I don’t use mascara, it looks like I don’t have eyelashes. Do I line the inside or outside of the eye? She paused and said “I know you. You’re the lady who wants a haircut.” They tried very hard to fit me in her schedule but there just wasn’t enough time. Felicia escorted me through her store carefully addressing each of my questions. She stepped away for a moment. I was looking for the price of an item when Dom the charming security officer offered to help. He had a sparkle in his eye, a dance to his step and a great smile. He said hello to everyone who walked in. He’d open the door when he could. He has a keen eye. So shoplifters beware. Then Jayli come in to wax and tent my eyebrows. She was professional and bright. She has plans to run her own place one day. I know she’ll make it. I hope to be one of her clients. At the end of it all Felicia asked me if they could serve as my home store. Read moreI wish I could give negative stars. Today they have 5x the points for diamond members (which I am). I wanted to take advantage of the deal, so I got a Dyson hair dryer ($400) online and used my racked up points which were worth $125. Upon arrival of the store, I got a few other items. When I was paying, I was told to apply for the credit card for an additional 20% off. I asked if I could return the hair dryer, get my points back immediately and buy the dryer again. I was told that would be no problem, and I'd be able to use the points. I returned the dryer. My points were not returned, so I tried to cancel my credit application which I told they couldn't. I was left without being able to get my 20% coupon for applying for the credit card, and all my points were removed. I lost about $300 in points. My credit was also impacted. I asked to remove everything off my credit. I was told no. When I complained about this, the manager said there was nothing that could be done. The representative gave me an attitude to the point I had to remind her I was a customer. The manager was right there and didn't do or say anything. I called a bit later to get the district manager number, and they gave me the ulta customer service number trying to pass it off as the district manager. What a horrible experience.
