We liked the train ride which lasted about 20 minutes. Would have been a 5 star but they list points due to a workers attitude. We were in the main line and were going to be put in a second line to be put on the train. Well my wife has severe asthma and was having difficulty breathing so she took her mask off for a few minute and this crotchety old man who was a worker raised his voice and told her she needed to put it back on. Then we went into the next line to be seated on the train. We waited several minutes and a family of 4 got behind us. As time went on they started moving closer and closer. As a result we started to move a little to the left to maintain the 6 feet distance. Next thing I know this same crotchety old man pulls out out of line and moves us in back of other people several feet to the back of the train and told us that was not the line. If it was not a line that would have been fine by me but the issue I have is he allowed the other mixed couple family who was behind us before he moved us to stay right where we were previously. I guess maybe if I were black I would have not been pulled out of line. We were standing to the left of the bench where the blue dot telling you to remain 6 feet apart. The pic was taken from where we were. moved to and after the train...
Read moreAlways enjoyable and nostalgic. Dollywood takes their trains seriously and it shows! This is a must for train enthusiasts. If you're lucky and arrive early enough before departure the kids may even get a quick engine tour from a conductor! A word of caution: Authentic antique trains WILL cast out soot and cinders. I would highly recommend riding in the back cars as you have less chance of catching a cinder. One other thing to note is the front of the railway car usually has a plastic shield that is helpful in this situation. Keep in mind this is a featured attraction and not a means to get around the park. This ride will drop you off at the same point it picks you up. There are no stops at other points in the park. ... All of Dollywood's trains are authentic, historic and painstakingly restored ONSITE. They are regularly maintained by skilled technicians. I've had the opportunity to talk to a few of the technicians and their love of...
Read moreRows spaced more than 6' apart limiting capacity. They are so worried about getting sued over COVID that that they have dramaticaly reduced their vaule. Would not have traveled this far at full price for the experiance. Strict mask poicy on top of 6 feet rule even in open space is more restrictive than the local order. Moved from 1 to 2 stars only because a kind "Guard" let me hold a spot for our party of 10, while they used up an hour of daylight on rides. I use the term guard becaues it felt less American than American has ever felt... and folks this was "Dollywood" we are talking about. It had a military state feel too it. I do understand risk controll as I am a risk manager, but a viris is not a risk any one should be worried about getting sued over. They had big signs warning you were entering at your own risk, but if that is true then give us our freedoms and choice back. Freedom with responsiblity...
