We stopped in this store on a whim after a long day at the water park. I’m gonna break this review down into two sections… staff and pricing. First the staff themselves and the service they provide. EVERYONE in this store was BEYOND helpful. Austin went above and beyond helping me pick out cards and endured my MANY questions. We are just getting into playing Pokémon (we are long time collectors but are just starting out building a deck to play) and Austin helped me by answering probably a hundred trivial questions I had as I was unsure on what certain things were on some cards when it came to game play. Because of this, I left the store feeling more confident about future card purchases. Our 11 year old son is also learning to play as well and Micha was so helpful explaining the basics to us so we had better knowledge on which cards to play. Even down to suggesting trainers for the specific deck he is building. Additionally, Micha runs classes to teach people and kids the game and invited us to join them on their weekly game play days which we will be coming back to do THIS weekend. This is saying a lot because we live over 1 1/2 hours away. Katie was also sweet and helped us while we were in the shop.
Second the pricing and store environment. The pricing was the best that I’ve seen in a while. Which is nice because our house of three is buying cards left and right for collecting and now for building decks to battle haha. The store isn’t really big but it still has a decent selection and the prices really can’t be beat.
Overall I am happy with this store and while we normally only come to the area maybe 2-3 times a year, we will now come to town WAY more frequently just to shop here.
Thank you again Austin,...
Read moreSo I decided to go into this card shop today and at first glance, it was amazing, the guy who originally went over everything was very informative and nice. However I was looking for Mew cards, this other guy said he had one for sale, he showed it to me, I mentioned it was damaged and asked what price he’d take it at. Told me with an attitude he’d have to check TCG (which is what they told me they based pricing off of) so I said okay! Walked around, and found this Gardevoir card I liked, linked below. Noticed on the sticker, they were selling it for $70. I checked TCG, collector, and another price checker, and all of them said $48-49. I mentioned to the guy that all of them said that. And even showed him the charts I was looking at, he went to talk to the dude who originally gave me an attitude for the Mew. (Still never got an answer on how much it was) They talked, and I overheard them talking about eBay listings going for $70. (I also checked the SOLD listening, and have not seen a single one in the last week sell for more than $50.) Guy came back and told me he can’t go any lower than $70. Needless to say I walked out empty handed. Below I’ve attached everything I’m saying. Was really looking forward to this shop as all the positive reviews don’t know if I just got unlucky or people have been paying above...
