The space is amazing, lots of room, good service and the metrics of the system are as good, if not better than most places where you hit into a screen.
Reason for my review is that I had a lesson with Anthony and wanted to provide my feedback on an overwhelmingly positive experience. The reviews on him as a teacher were lacking on Google so after such a positive interaction I wanted to share my experience.
Like any amateur I have had multiple lessons with multiple instructors. Most want to adapt your swing to fit their coaching, this wasn't the case with Anthony. Despite me being antsy to display my (beautifully flawed) swing, he took the time to see why I was there and talk about my game. I only needed 3 swings for him to provide his adjustments and the results were immediate and positive. He was authentic both in terms of his encouragement and his demeanor and he was incredibly articulate with instruction and most importantly efficient. As we progressed we talked more and more about my on course game and he provided additional instruction (and a few drills) for situations as well how to reset and get back to what we worked on. It was effortless and you can tell that he not only knows what he is doing but has been coaching for quite some time. Plus I was only there for an hour.
Just an FYI, I came in for what I called a tune up, I had been spraying the ball and was looking for some consistency in terms of all shots and limiting dispersion. He helped me fix all of that plus gain compression on the ball and therefore increased my distance. I am far from a beginner so I wanted to add that disclaimer but I would be confident that all skill levels would benefit from a session with him.
I spend enough time golfing that seeing him a few times a season will be well worth the lack of stress and gained strokes.
See you soon...
Read moreA month ago I took a 30-minute lesson with Anthony that I referred to as a 'refresher session' to get ready for the season. I play to a 4 handicap - but just haven't felt that I was taking full advantage of opportunities for distance and the best shot shape. Anthony first asked me what my goals/reasons were for reaching out to him, watched me hit a dozen balls to get warmed up, and immediately had an idea how to help. He agreed that everything was very good from my grip, stance and swing - I just needed a small adjustment to my take-away and swing path, primarily with the first 25% of my backswing. Once I made the slight adjustment that Anthony suggested, my swing/ball speed jumped up - my distance jumped up 15-20 yards, all technical numbers improved, and my shot shape came back to a slight draw - from the straight/slight fade that I had grown used to playing over the last few years.
In short, everything that I had read about Anthony being a down-to-earth, straightforward guy that worked with what you have, versus making wholesale changes (unless needed), was all true. Over the past month, during a few practice sessions a week, I have been working on the small improvements that we went over in my session - and I have definitely seen the results continue. I just need the weather in the 'Burg to take a turn so that I can get outside and see how it goes on the course versus the practice tee!
I highly suggest setting up a session with Anthony - you won't be disappointed in my...
Read moreThis place has some potential, but it was a very rough first visit. The food and drink menu is pretty weak. The food I did end up ordering got delivered to a different table without me knowing. When I asked about my food it was over an hour into my visit. The crew apologized and ‘rushed my order’. When it did come out, it was all completely burnt. It was obvious it was cooked at an extremely high temperature just to quickly get it out to me. Even if the food was done right, it wouldn’t have been good. There was no apology or offer to cover any portion of the food. The entire visit felt rushed by the staff and was just an overall poor experience. A much better option is to visit 5-Iron in downtown Pittsburgh. This place is just not going to make it with the way it’s...
