I went to the Pinellas Park UBREAKITIFIXIT shop in the early am.
I asked for windows tend to be upgraded to windows eleven. Just an upgrade.
My laptop was a little on the old side.I knew how to use it. I asked three different times if my laptop was okay to upgrade. I get an answer like it's okay. It's it will work.
I called, the day I dropped it off, in the afternoon since it wasn't done I reverified that the machine would be okay for an upgrade.
I called the next morning, asked how my machine was doing and they said everything was going well they were still working on it. Since an upgrade doesn't take that long, I reverified that my machine handle a windows eleven upgrade. They said it's going fine.
I called at the end of the day. I was told I was sent a letter that it was done.So I went down to pick it up.
Something didn't look right when I went in to pick it up.Usually they turn the machine on.
So I did it. Everything I do mean everything was gone.
I do massive spreadsheets. They were all gone I have major histories of those spreadsheets that I use for various needs that can pinpoint to the exact location of where I need to go to get the information. Everything was gone.
My family photos gone. Memories you can't get back.
I was never asked to have a backup done Best Buy. They always ask you, we're gonna do something. You might want to get a backup. We do do that. Nothing requested.
An upgrade doesn't require erasing. You just upgrade it.
Shocked disappointed very...
Read moreToo much headache. I took my laptop to them for the Keyboard to be replaced- the price was really cheap which was good only $54! Upon picking up my device their "software for credit cards was down" but still they ran my card twice and told me it was unsuccessful and they would not give me my laptop without payment. Okay, fine.
Reluctantly I left to the bank to get cash then returned to pick up my laptop. Finally, I thought the headache was over- NO. I see "ubreakifix Pending" on my bank statements and believed that it would not go through since the two guys working at the store assured me the software was down, again NOPE . They took my money from two "failed transactions in the store" as well as a cash payment directly from me. Overall to fix my device was $54 but I ended up paying $162 because I paid 3 times for what I was only supposed to be charged once.
Definitely more headache than not. As I write this review I have been on hold with ubreakifix help line for 25+ mins trying to get $108 returned to my card. I called the store and they have not called me back. Next time I'll take my device somewhere else to avoid all the headache. It's not worth going there- also seeing other dissatisfied customers' as I was their doesn't help them either.... My keyboard works good so they get 2 stars instead of...
Read moreOriginally I have put a great review for this company. But since then I had a bad experience. my ipad they fixed. But I took it back in for a simple sound check and the guy in there was very rude and kept trying to make me pay money, and my original receipt showed that I was still with them warranty of the original repair and he just wouldn't keep trying to take money from me. I did contact the customer service. And they went above and beyond to help me. And I was able to go back and get the service check. But I was so upset because I thought I was a respect the customer so I really don't want to go back there for anything else again because if you get somebody a warranty and tell them you can tell you do whatever it takes under the warranty and then when they go in that you don't. Honor that and he was rude, just respectful. I just hate the whole experience so I wouldn't ever go back there personally, once you burn me, I don't want to give you my money. And my total repair bill was like a $169. So that's not a lot of money to them , but it was a lot...
