Overall, I can only give this place a 2 star for the sandwich. I have celiac disease and can't have gluten/wheat (no bread), so I've been sad not being able to have a good sandwich in a couple of years. A coworker of mine recommended Firehouse subs for their exceptional gluten-free hoagie. So I gave it a try. It took 5 minutes for someone to recognize my existence, and there were 3 people on the line, only one person at the checkout. The older lady at the front desk was nice, I assume she is a supervisor or a manager of some sorts. She helped me customize my own sandwich. I'm always down for a cold sandwich or a warm sandwich, but this sandwich was really hot when I got it, and I never specified that I wanted it toasted, and I was never asked. I asked for bacon on the sandwich, but you can cook up on the bacon before before putting it on the sandwich. The fact that I never said if I wanted it toasted and was never asked should have been a clear sign that I wanted a cold sandwich. The bacon was half cooked, I prefer my bacon to be crispy a bit. I ate it anyway cause I was really hungry but it was too warm for my liking, the honey ham was fantastic, my favorite sliced deli meat and the taste of the honey mustard and mayo were really goof but the mayo was a bit overpowering. It was dead in there, no music playing and all of the tables were dirty. There were two high school-aged boys working the line (they were talking about their classes, so I knew they were high school aged) they just kept complaining about the work they were doing. One of them was saying that they've been working there all day and all week (boohoo, my first high school job was in the food industry at a Cafe that was 3 times as busy as this location, line going out the door and 10 online orders needing to be made ASAP, I was a shift lead supervisor and if I heard one of my team member employees constantly complain about their job I would question why they were even there and bring it up to my manager. I get it working. The food industry sucks but it's a stepping stone and actually teaches you a lot of things. I'm grateful for my experience in the food industry working with fellow classmates.)You can dislike your job and complain about it, we all do it but don't do it in front of your supervisor or while there are customers in the store, makes us feel not wanted there. One of them complained about having to close the lobby, and the older lady said it doesn't take that long. No wonder the tables were so dirty, nobody wants to do their job there. I definitely want to go back for the sandwiches, just not this location, I'll find...
Read moreThe food is always good (on par with other in the chain) but the service at this location is hit or miss. Today it was a HUGE miss. I visited around 1:15 pm at the drive thru. There was one car ahead of me placing their order and about five cars total in the parking lot. As soon as I pulled up to the speaker I was asked to "give her a minute" in a rude and annoyed tone. After five minutes she asked for my order. I asked for a sandwich and she asked me to repeat myself twice. Then when I asked for a cup of soup to complete my combo she said "oh you want a pair? UGH" and apparently she had to start all over and I repeated my sandwich order a third time. (Turkey with everything except onions - not in the least bit complicated) When I pulled up to pay, a different person asked me if I was waiting on such-and-such aka NOT my order. So I told that person (the fourth time total). She had me pay and handed my drink. And then everyone disappeared. I waited for 10 minutes before pulling around and going inside. Little Miss Sunshine was on the front register inputting orders over a headset and was in the middle of a large order. She ignored me completely until I asked the sandwich maker if he was aware of my order. All of a sudden I was no longer invisible and she was able to interrupt whoever she was on the phone with to speak to him, letting him know my order was in a bag sitting next to him and that she'd tried to bring it to me at the window but I'd already left, which of course is a LIE. To top it off I discovered when I'd gotten back to my office that my entire order was wrong. Go for the food, don't count on the...
Read moreFelt like having a sandwich after my haircut. I walk inside and this is my experience upon entering. Employee: Did you get a haircut? Me: Yes, I did actually. Thanks for noticing. =) Employee: HAHAHAHA! Me: Confused Look Employee: Turns around and continues working Got home and noticed I had some hair on my face. I don't know, seemed like a rude and awkward thing to do. Never went back. Noticed the New Management sign. Time to give this place another shot. Pulled up to an empty drive through. No one said anything. For the next 10 minutes I proceeded to say "Hello?" about 3 times while waiting. Finally some one came on and said "Take a look at the menu, I'll be right with you." I should mention there are a couple people outside taking a break during this wait time. Ordered a Medium Hero, no onions. Pulled up to pay, no one came by to open the window for another 10 minutes. Pondered leaving but stayed because I've already invested this much time into this. Paid, waited for my food a little longer. After 30 minutes, my food was in my hands and I was ready to go home. Got home, took a bite, I taste onions. Feels bad, man. Other than that, great sandwich. Not worth the wait. I would love to make this my sandwich spot, but the service won't allow me to. Guess I'll just sit here and wait for the response from Guest Services saying how alarming this wait time was to hear about and how they are sorry their mission wasn't accomplished and that I'm appreciated for this feedback that will be passed along to the owner. Meanwhile, nothing gets done to improve...
