If I could give less than a single star review I would. I purchased a Gas dryer from this store a week ago, with a scheduled delivery and installation for this past Monday. The Delivery team brought the wrong part to connect to the gas line, then told me that it would be up to me to go back to the store and purchase one, AFTER I ALREADY PURCHASED THE INSTALLATION KIT AND SERVICE! The delivery is then sent back to Home Depot because the delivery team couldn't install it. I have been on the phone with Home Depot now for the span of two days, and spent a collective 7 HOURS ON HOLD OVER 6 DIFFERENT CALLS! Home Depot did send out a plumber, but gave them a work order for something completely different than what they were there to do, which was install a gas line connection. Following the instructions I was given from Home Depot, I then called back to have the dryer delivered again, after Home Depot had told me the day before that they would have the dryer back out as soon as the plumber was done. Current state? I still do not have a functioning appliance, the dryer I had no can't be used because of the new fitting the plumber put on, and no one I have spoken to at Home Depot has even tried to make more than a token effort to help. Over the course of the last 3 days I have been told the following from Home Depot: We aren't sure what happened, but someone cancelled your order. And that item is on back order, so we MIGHT be able to get one back out to you after then. Then told the order can be replaced and why didn't anyone tell me that before? Sorry our plumber made your current appliance unusable, would you like to place a new order, and we'll try to get it to you in a week? Placed on hold for a collective 7 hours, and in that time, hung up on twice after being on hold for 45+ minutes each time, transferred to an office in NEW JERSEY, and I still do not have a functioning appliance.
AN APPLIANCE THAT DID FUNCTION UNTIL HOME DEPOTS PLUMBER RENDERED IT USELESS AND HOME DEPOT IS NOT EVEN TRYING TO MAKE IT RIGHT!
I know it won't make much difference coming from me, but if I can avoid it I will never do business with this company ever again! And if you, poor soul, find yourself shopping here, I sincerely hope the purchase goes right the first time, because Home Depot is not even close to competent when it comes to...
Read moreAbsolutely love Home Depot's products and selection but they have got to start hiring better staff. It really deters not only myself but many people I know from shopping here anymore. Most recently, Marie, in the home appliances department was either having a bad day or needs to be retrained on basic customer service skills. The amount of times we had to repeat ourselves on the product we needed, e-mail, name, etc was absolutely ridiculous. She verbally confirmed the information to which we said "yes" just to be asked the same information less than 3 minutes later and her say "I don't have that". Not only was she blatantly not listening the first time, she took 3 separate personal calls on her cell phone in the middle of our transaction. I understand if an emergency call came in, by all means, but multiple personal calls when you're taking 30+ minutes to purchase 1 appliance?? Also mentioned 2 separate times that we were interested in applying for a credit card and that we did NOT need installation. Get all the way to the end of the transaction and what do you know? She yet again, had the $150 installation fee on there, did not have the $50 discount applied for the credit card, and did not have the credit card application pulled up. Backtracked for the 100th time to finally get to the application and she insisted that you MUST consent to the marketing and solicitation via email and phone calls to be approved for the card. We then informed her that's not legal and not at all how credit card approval works. She then proceeded to say she selects it for all the ones she has done and that you will be denied if you don't select yes. We still selected "No" as like most people, didn't want to receive numerous phone calls and emails from credit solicitors. What do you know? Got approved of course. Marie wished us to have a great day in the highest pitch sarcastic voice I've ever heard.
Long story short, I never expect "speedy" service but when someone makes you repeat yourself over and over, just to STILL have the wrong information? Could it be that she took so many calls for her food that she wasn't paying attention? I think so. If her personal life was more important at the time, then take a break and get someone else to fill in. There's no reason it should've taken 36 minutes to purchase 1 appliance. Do...
Read moreI want to share my EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING experience with Home Depot regarding a window installation contract I signed in October of last year. After MONTHS of delays and endless excuses, the windows were finally installed in January—but the job was left incomplete.
One of the rooms had privacy (frosted) glass installed instead of the clear glass we requested. This was never part of the original plan, and it makes no sense. We have been trying to get that corrected for over SIX MONTHS, and the issue is still unresolved.
What’s worse is the lack of coordination and accountability. Every step of the process was handled by a different subcontractor. One person sells you the service, another comes to take measurements, someone else comes to inspect, and yet another person shows up to install. No one knows what the previous person did, and no one takes responsibility for the mistakes.
A technician was finally sent out recently to replace the incorrect panels. The job? Still not done. They brought four glass panels (two windows, two panels each), but only one was installed. One of the panels broke, and the other two were the wrong size—again. It’s frustrating that even after all this time, the fix was careless and incomplete.
I’ve spoken with at least 10 to 15 different Home Depot representatives, and I’m tired of hearing, “call this number instead, we can’t help you here” OR FILE ANOTHER CLAIM. Meanwhile, I’ve kept up with every single payment on time, even though the service I paid for is NOWHERE near finished.
At this point, I honestly don’t know if the reason this has been such a disaster is because I’m a latin woman handling this on my own. I’m sincerely searching for a reason to justify why the service has just been absolute abhorrent, like directly from hell. Maybe if my husband had dealt with it, someone would have taken it more seriously? I don’t even know at this point… and regardless, this entire experience has been a disgrace.
Please don’t use Home Depot for window installations. Go with a private contractor, try Lowe’s, try ANYONE ELSE!!! Please, SAVE YOURSELF time, money, and stress. I trusted a “national” brand for something important in my home, and I regret...
