I've never shopped there but I've donated several times. It's usually a pleasant experience. Today, however, was different. I walked in early (apparently too early as the young lady looked right at her watch). I probably should have turned right around but I figured I was already there. The "gentleman" the lady and another guy walked out to my truck seemingly dragging their feet. I opened up the back and he immediately told me "we can't take that". I replied "ANY of it?' to which he said something about not wanting to open the door of my truck. I opened it myself and finally persuaded him to take a floor jack. I left without asking for a receipt. I usually feel good about loading up my truck and making the trip to Pitman in the hopes of helping others who might be less fortunate. After this morning, I will NEVER donate there again! I'm sure there are other places that would show a modicum of appreciation for my efforts. And I should have kept...
Read moreI've been a patron of Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity Restore, Pitman, NJ for several years now, and consistently receive excellent customer service (Gene in particular- store manager), as well as competitive pricing. This store offers a variety of home goods, furniture, tools, lawn and garden, flooring, cabinetry, *appliances, lighting, in addition to various other treasures. The beauty of this store is it's PEOPLE....from top to bottom, the employees truly care about their customers, in accordance with their wants and needs. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this little gem to anyone looking for a particular "something", or simply out bargain shopping..... there's always a deal to be made...just ask! The best part....you never know what you're gonna find from day to day! Happy...
Read moreThe prices are WAY too high for used furniture. Staff isn’t all that friendly and when I came in on a busy Saturday, they had employees moving everything around and taking up pretty much the entire store walkway doing so. Maybe do those things on a less busy day? It made me feel like I was in everyone’s way when I was trying to look around, and I couldn’t get to some things I wanted to look at at all.
The store is really cluttered and unorganized - if you want to dig and hunt around, I guess it could be fun, but it felt stressful and chaotic to me, especially with the employees moving everything.
