The best scrap yard in Pittsburgh by a mile. I do a LOT of scrapping in my line of work and I've probably been to every yard within an hour of downtown and I've yet to find anyone that even comes close to AAA. Their copper prices are always the best around and their other non-ferrous prices are excellent as well. They pay the most for insulated wire and even have good prices on electronic scrap. The only area I've found them to not be the best (but still better than most) is with tin/shred prices but they're a smaller yard and that's not really their specialty so I understand why.
What really keeps me coming back though is the service, they embody the Pittsburgh "small town" mentality and are always friendly and helpful. When I started going there years ago I didn't even know to use a magnet to separate my metals, but they took the time to teach me how to get the most value from my scrap rather than take advantage of my ignorance. Tim and Todd have given me tons of tips and tricks that have maximized my payout both at their yard and at others and Jess always greets me with a smile and treats me like an old friend rather than a customer. I can't recommend these guys enough, if you have copper and you take it anywhere else you're doing yourself...
Read moreIt’s been about 12-15 years since I’ve been here. The last time I was in the guy working was rude and very disrespectful. I moved out of the area and vowed to never return again. I ended up doing a clean out job and had a few hundred pounds of motherboards. I remembered these people from years ago buying mine and I gave them a second chance. Totally worth it! Great bunch of people to do business with! About 3-5 people were there helping me unload the truck and made the transaction effective and smooth on my part. The one guy was even helping me sort the boards because I didn’t know which ones I had. I’ll definitely be back whenever I have more...
Read moreI have been going here for over 20 years . Im a plumber and typically save a couple buckets and take em in about once a month. Always fair prices and I trusted them . Today they got me , I let my guard down. My #1 copper bucket was as heavy as my brass bucket . They paid me for 40 pounds for the brass and 25 pounds for the copper . I heard the guy say 38 minus 2 , I wasn't watching the scale. Im hoping it was just a misunderstanding, numbers got crossed. Im just saying watch them . I dont care so much about the money , I just feel that if you do business with someone for this long you shouldnt need...
