I've been a monthly lease holder through my company for over a year and a half now and Nova Place is easily the worst garage I've had to deal with. They constantly close gates without warning so you can't get in or out, and trying to get through to security is just as much of a pain. Last winter when I went to park in gate 6, the roll-up gate let me in and then closed behind me, but then the lift gate to actually get into the garage was broken, so I was stuck between the 2 gates. I found 3 numbers for security and all 3 numbers I called said they had been disconnected. I had to get out of my car and walk out of the side entrance, swipe my lease card for the roll-down gate, duck under it, and quickly reverse my car to get back out. Then again in the spring I had dropped my wallet (where I keep my lease card) while walking to work and didn't realize it till I tried to leave the garage that night. I had gone up to the main building entrance to talk to security hoping someone mightve dropped my wallet off or if they could at least let me out of the gate since I don't have my lease card. Unfortunately my wallet was gone, but to make matters worse they also didn't let me out of the gate! I was forced to pay for a "missing ticket," with the petty cash I had left in my car! Absolutely absurd! What is the point in registering our cars for the lease passes if they won't even look it up to verify! Worst garage ever, would not recommend to anyone and definitely don't bother getting...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was traveling out of town and seeking a remote work location. This facility was advertised as a great 'meet and work' spot and suggested that there were ideal semi-private locations for meetings and work areas (tables/desks with adequate seating), and several food options to 'fuel up'. However, I was immediately surprised and disappointed that Wi-Fi was not free - you had to pay a $10 pass for xfinity. Additionally, besides the Federal Galley that was physically located outside the building, the only other food option that was possibly available was the snack area, which was locked with a key fob. All the other food options that were advertised on the website were closed. Being advertised as a meeting and work place is entirely misleading. If you are seeking a gathering place for a remote work session, I highly suggest you instead go to the Carnegie Library (Oakland, Main Campus). That way your $10 parking can be justified and you can enjoy the flexibility of getting some food nearby or in the two adjacent cafes. Nova Place needs to advertise the limitations of this space appropriately so as not to waste working individuals time - and money. More specifically, there were no public restrooms available for the entire facility, making it inconvenient to go to the only restroom available in the Federal Galley. Work spaces were also inadequate and not functional/conducive to working on a laptop. and there was not enough outlets...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAwful property management. A bird has been stuck in the building for over a week, pooping on the furniture (some of which is located next to a small bistro that serves food for the building). Despite multiple attempts to contact property management via email and phone, they have done nothing to remove the bird. It has pooped on the furniture and has been helpless for over a week. After speaking with Julie and another manager of the property, it is obvious they do not care. They spoke over me, gave conflicting stories about who was handling it, and told me they were ādone with the conversationā after the man on the phone interrupted me while speaking and I told him I was not finished. Would not recommend this...
