The atmosphere and waitress was really nice. Well minus the TikTok music playlist that was playing. If I could give a zero stars for food, I would. As I right this-the few bites of the cheese steak I had is still belching up. When I picked up the sandwich it had a soggy bottom bun and a pool of grease on the plate. Tasted like the grease trap wasn’t cleaned out, overly soggy, and like a shaker of salt was poured on it. Was looking around at the four other people at my table. One had a salad with chicken. Asked how her meal was-she stayed the lettuce was good but the chicken seemed like ore-cooked, frozen, and boiled. It was very rubbery. Looked at the next person. Had a Rueben. Same as my sandwich. The bottom bun soaked. This is a guy that eats everything. Took two bites and left it. Looked across the table at the girl with the margarita pizza. One bite and nothing else touched. I was like-that can’t be so bad. Well-greasy crust, another shaker of salt taste(I’m talking the whole shaker), and no sauce. Couldn’t swallow the bite. Looked to my left-husband said his lettuce was good but the chicken tasted boiled-rubbery. If you are at a pirates game and drink ten beers, then I’d say go soak up the alcohol with some greasy food. Well-I take that back-you’d vomit. Get the tater tots. That would be the only recommendation.
Very disappointed to drop 230 bucks on a dinner that we all couldn’t even stomach. Again, as I type-all are burping and having stomach pains. If you visit a museum near by and are hungry, Do yourself the favor and keep walking. It’s not worth it. Only go if you are looking to get a beer.
Hate writing negative reviews but this had to be shared. Great staff and atmosphere(minus the...
Read moreAfter visiting the Warhol museum we decide to eat at the So Ho. We were a party of 4 and all from out of town. Upon entering the so ho the hostess said it was happy hour and certain drinks were half price. She walk us to our seats but not by the giant chalk board with menus. So when our waiter came by we asked him which drinks on the menu were the happy hour specials. He said the high lighted ones. So we all choose a high lighted drink and ordered appetizers. When we got our bill the drinks were full price. He called the manager over and he rudely proceeded to tell us that on game day the happy hour prices did not apply. He said it was stated on the black board that we never saw entering the restaurant and was NOT visible from our table. The waiter never told us that happy hour was not in effect during game days, no did the hostess who told us it was happy hour. We all felt that we were scammed and the employees were deceitful about the happy hour rules. He specifically knew we were out of town since he asked about the logos on our sweaters. We asked the manager to adjust the bar bill but he was vehement that it was our fault for not reading the chalk board which we had no vision or knowledge of. We asked him to comp an appetizer for the miss information by the staff and he laughed at us. He said the cash register could not handle the transaction . This was totally bogus. We were taken for a ride or scammed. NEVER GO THERE IF YOU ARE IN PITTSBURGH ATTENDING A...
Read moreWe came in to sit at the bar and have a cocktail after driving half a day to get to Pittsburgh. The cocktail list was predominantly vodka+juice concoctions reminiscent of the kind of drinks we used to make in college--designed to badly mask the taste of alcohol and get you drunk fast, and most of them cloyingly sweet. The peach sunrise fit this description perfectly. The triple berry Manhattan had an interesting spiciness from the Crown Royal and walnut bitters, but it was sweeter than I would have liked. The grapefruit mule was better than expected. I had a Macallan 12 neat for my second drink.
As a snack, we ordered the pot stickers. They were served hot and crispy with a tangy sauce. No complaints.
It's a nice looking restaurant. A big long rectangular bar with seating all around. I'm sure they're packed to the gills on days that the Pirates play across the street. Lots of other tables. It was a bit bright, and we thought they could achieve a bit more cozy, intimate ambiance if they just turned the lights down a bit.
The staff was polite and friendly and we felt very well taken care of.
It was a perfectly fine place to go have a drink and a snack after a long drive, but I don't think I'd make a trip down here just to...
