Overall a really good experience. I was shopping around for a piece of granite for a counter-top and was new to the whole experience. One place wanted to offer me a price for the granite, then a price for installation, and only if they had a scrap piece on hand was it anywhere near worth the right price. Another place I asked questions about how much overhang would be safe and they told me that the cabinet installers would be able to tell you that... really? it's your granite... and I'm the one installing the cabinets... because yet another company i got with quoted me $900 just for a basic 60" x 24" cabinet set. I ended up buying them myself from Lowe's for $500 and they weren't just basic oak either. Anyways Nick at Kitchen-rama not only gave me an all in one deal for the slab of granite, he actually asked me questions about what I wanted to do and gave me the warm and fuzzy in regards to how I would go about achieving the results I desired.
One small hiccup was that I kind of had to push a little bit to get my granite installed within a week of me getting the cabinets installed. I had the impression originally that they would install that weekend after I called Saturday morning to tell them the cabinets were in. It almost got pushed back a week because they were busy, but after talking to them we got the granite in after getting the area measured by the next Friday, and man did it look stunning. I'm not a rich guy, but when you look at my new granite tabletop island in my kitchen, you might think I am pretty rich!
I give these guys 5 stars even though there was a minor hiccup in scheduling, because after talking with them they worked their schedule around to accommodate me and I really appreciated that. What a beautiful piece of granite, my wife says its the best thing we've done to our house since...
Read moreHad the worst experience here. These people have terrible and shady business practices.
We went in, picked out a stone and gave them all the dimensions of our kitchen, they gave us the approximate price(we knew it could change slightly based on the measurement) we agreed and paid the deposit with a credit card. They came, measured and when we went to pay the remainder they tacked on a bunch of extra charges we were not aware of. The square footage they estimated was correct but the price rose significantly. When I questioned them the owner got aggressive and started saying that he “doesn’t need to rip people off”. We negotiated them to take off one of the adders but when I went to pay the remainder with the same credit card that I paid the deposit with they then said it was a 4% fee to use a card. Absolutely no mention of this before, they let you pay the deposit to trick you into thinking there is no credit card fee. They also tried to have me initial some changes on the blueprints that she wrote in another language. I refused to move forward with them. They won’t return the deposit so I am out the money but I refuse to give them another dime. Such bad...
Read moreWhere do I begin? This place is awful. Lets start with the order. My order was wrong 3 times. When I did receive them, there were missing parts, each cabinet had a major imperfection, scratch, or chip on it and half of them did not have slow close hinges on them. I asked for some touch up paint that they ordered from the paint store down the street which I found was NOT a matching white. The granite install was a nightmare. They had to cut out sections off all the drywall and was prying on the drywall where there were no studs therefore putting holes through it. The young kid installer used some 2x4's and other wood I had laying around as a brace against an adjacent wall where there was no support and pushed the drywall in cracking all the seams and drywall. Then they tried leaving without fixing the main seam because they had another job to go to. Which by the way looked horrible and it had some chipping on the edge. Bottom line is the only good thing about this place was they negotiated the price and the cabinets are plywood. Other than that they have nothing going for them. Not to mention the difficulty in communication which luckily Josh was...
