Fishmongers Seafood Market — Attraction in Plainfield Charter Township

Set off the road so, a little hard to find. I was not impressed with the small selection of fresh fish, none were my favorites that I can find elsewhere. There was a large selection of frozen fish. They had a selection of soups and stews. I tried the She crab soup which was not very good, very thin with a few small crumbles of what I assume was some kind of crab. I didn't see any cooking going on or any menu. After a 30 to 60 second interaction with the counter employee I purchased a snapper filet which I took home and blackened. It was good. The real turn off was in the end after a mediocre experience and very little interaction with anyone, the check out screen asked me for a tip. Historical an above average tipper but I am sick of everyone asking for for just existing. As a result I have reduced the amount I tip now as the increase in prices have caused tips to go up. I deduct credit card frees from my tips. And I don't tip for take out or retail places and generally...

New favorite spot!!! The fried fish was amazing. Can choose from battered or bread. Had a few different seasoning options. I had the Cajun and it was seasoned perfectly. Onion rings were decent. Not the best I’ve ever had but still good. Cole slaw could definitely use some improvement, didn’t have any flavor but I was there for the fish so I didn’t care too much. When it comes to fried food I typically like to eat at the restaurant otherwise it can get soggy. I called earlier today to see if they still had their shrimp boil special going on. When I called this afternoon, she said that they did have it and it was 18.99 for 1 pound and they also have a 2 pound option. I called around dinner time to order a shrimp boil and the lady on the phone said they only have a 2lb for 18.99. My boyfriend went to go pick it up and when he got there about 10 mins after me ordering, she said they didn’t have any shrimp boils.
