One of my go-to thrift stores on Plainfield. I have purchased lots of things here over the years from very rare vintage English china (sold on my Etsy shop), to some yards of discontinued Scalamandre fabric (to the design trade only - once retailing for $300+/yard) that I sold on Ebay, to a great Ethan Allen narrow bookcase that I painted (it was smokey from a prior owner) and have in my own home, to clothing for my elderly mother, to great drapery/window curtains (vintage cutwork/ Battenberg lace, etc.) and more. You never know what will be there. Sometimes it seems like they just have emptied out the store, but all of their unsold items have to go at some point, I suppose. More stuff will come in. Whoever donates to this store seem to have decent stuff compared to some other Salvation Army stores around. You just have to be there at the right time. Housed in a building that used to be an old store, the lighting, floor, bathroom and dressing rooms are bare-boned at best... but hey - that is what makes real thrifting fun. (Any more upgrades would most likely be reflected in higher prices.) We have also donated here, and around the back loading dock area the staff is very helpful and friendly every time we have dropped off things.
Downside - they are closed Sundays (corporate policy, I know) and also the parking lot and store approach can have some broken concrete spots. Just watch your step.
Worth checking out. They used to have the Flok app to collect punches to redeem for 50% off your TOTAL purchase (excluding Orange/Pink tags.) I purchased a top portion of a glass china hutch that way ( for $12- yea!) that I hope to use in a future bathroom for a unique linen storage piece.... but Sal. Army has discontinued Flok . (Hopefully they will come up with another reward/ loyalty...

About 25% menswear, 45% womens clothing, and 30% housewares. Small jewellery couter too.
Pros: Weekly color tags. Better quality items then most SA stores. Cleanest SA I've ever been in. Great selection. Prices on half the items were good, the other half a bit higher than other SA. Employees were very helpful and attentive.
Cons: Just a handful of items were unreasonably priced (IE: a simple sweater for $16 when most were only $3 to 5); never seen that before at an SA, it was...

With the limited income I have I would find items for people I knew needed them and couldn't afford them and would be able to pick them up at a price within my price range. After seeing the new corporate major increase in pricing I won't be going back anymore! The pricing has almost doubled for their items and the items aren't even being inspected! Sad to see that corporate greed has affected even...
