12/23/2024 Update: Had such an amazing time at The Escape Date again! We tried their new Christmas room, Christmas Catastrophe, and it was such a blast! Abi was an awesome host and really set the stage for a fun and immersive experience! The Escape Date always puts so much thought into their rooms, making them super detailed, fun, and just the right amount of challenge. Can’t wait to come back and try out the other rooms! Previous Review: We had an absolute blast at The Escape Date in the Showtime Magic Show escape room! The theming was spot-on, and every detail felt carefully crafted to create a fun and intriguing experience. The flow of the game was seamless, showing just how much thought and care went into its design. We loved all the clever details that made the game both challenging and entertaining. The themes of the rooms and the decor of the waiting area were impressive—it was clean, inviting, and set the perfect mood for a fun adventure. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, taking the time afterward to tell us all about their other rooms. This was one of my favorite escape rooms so far, and we can’t wait to return and explore the other rooms. We had such a fun date night, and highly recommend!

The Escape Date was a pleasant activity. It would be okay with just one couple, though I recommend a group date. The buisness is located on the basement floor of the building. Both the west or east entrances will work. Just look for the stairs and a large orange sign and head downstairs. The waiting room was well decorated and interesting. The reception desk is a bit lack-luster and could be upgraded to something more than a simple round table with a laptop. The staff were helpful, but lacked the showmanship one would expect. We chose the Magic room which was a blast. The goal was to find a Magicians hat. The staff member was supposed to be his assistant that urgently inform us that the hat needs to be found before the show that is starting in an hour. Instead of acting out some urgency, he stated "so...yeah...."I'm the magicians assistant... you need to find the hat...". The young chap was a good employee for sure. He just needed to make the intro more of an experience. The room it's self was very fun. Magnetic locks and hidden electronic sensors all over the place. Really exceeded my expectations.

Our first experience at The Escape Date was amazing but ended in an incredible failure. We couldn’t figure out the clues and weren’t able to finish the game. đŸ˜„ Today, we had redemption! We did a different room, the Escape Motel, and it was FANTASTIC! The clues were hard enough to make us work at it but easy enough that we were able to figure it out. Abby was working and did an AMAZING job setting the stage. She was in character and was so good at it that it made us feel like we were in a real scary motel. The clues were so well done and the decorations in the room were so immersive and so consistent with the theme. And this time we figured it out with 17 minutes to spare! Overall, we would recommend The Escape Date for anyone that’s looking to do something a little different, very fun and put together so well. I would expect anyone that tries The Escape Date has as much fun as we did!

Man where do I start.

If you’re thinking of booking an escape room and happen to land one hosted by Marcus Cummings, consider yourself incredibly lucky—you are in for an unforgettable experience!

From the moment we arrived, Marcus set the tone with an energy that was absolutely infectious. He greeted our group with such genuine enthusiasm and charisma that we felt like VIPs stepping into a world of adventure. His professionalism was matched only by his warm, approachable personality. He didn’t just “host” the experience—he elevated it.

Marcus has this rare ability to read a group perfectly. He instantly picked up on our dynamic and tailored his hosting style to suit us—fun and lighthearted, but also with just the right amount of suspense and intensity to get us fully immersed in the game. He gave the backstory to the room with such theatrical flair that it felt like we were stepping into a live-action movie. Everyone was hooked.

Throughout the game, Marcus was behind the scenes doing what I can only describe as escape room wizardry. His timing on clues was impeccable—never giving too much, never too little, and always delivered in a way that kept the atmosphere electric. He clearly takes pride in the experience and wants every team to succeed while still feeling challenged. That balance is an art, and Marcus is a true master of it.

What really stood out was how much he genuinely seemed to care about our experience. After we completed the room (with mere seconds to spare!), Marcus came in beaming with excitement, congratulating us like we’d just won an Olympic event. He took time to walk us through parts of the game we had questions about, highlighting clever elements we had missed and celebrating the moments we shined. It didn’t feel rushed or routine—it felt personal.

He even remembered little details about our group that he weaved into his conversation later on, which showed how attentive he had been the entire time. That level of engagement is rare and made us feel seen and appreciated as customers.

As someone who has done dozens of escape rooms, I can confidently say that Marcus is among the best hosts I’ve ever encountered. He combines knowledge, passion, humor, intuition, and kindness in a way that transforms a fun game into a truly memorable event. Hosts like Marcus are the reason people become repeat customers—not just to try new rooms, but because they want to be part of the experience he creates.

So, if you’re booking an escape room and you see Marcus Cummings is hosting—go for it. You’ll leave not only having had a blast solving puzzles, but with a story worth telling and a host you’ll be talking about long after the game is over. Thank you, Marcus, for turning our visit into something truly special. You...

This was my first experience with an escape room, but my son said he has been to several others around the valley. We had 7 of us and we all loved it! My more experienced son said this was his favorite. I love that you can have as few, or as many people as you want, and you aren’t stuck being with people that you don’t know. That’s a huge bonus! Also we loved the fact that if you get stuck for too long, you are given clues that are slid under the door which helps so you don’t get too frustrated. The theme was so fun (Showtime Magic) and very clever clues too! The couple working that night were so great!! We were super happy with our experience and had such a great time. We will definitely be back to experience another room. ** Edit: When you book a room make sure you don't book spots for people in your party if you're not positive that they are coming. They will let you add people last minute, but If anyone cancels or gets sick, you're stuck paying for them anyway because they won't give you refunds (and it's not cheap!). They really need to change their policy! My daughters and their friends booked a room for 8 and 3 friends couldn't come last minute (covid and work), so my daughter was out $60!! It really put a damper on their evening and they all said they wouldn't go back because of it. It's really...
