Had the worst experience of my life at this salon. Beware of an owner that has to put up signs everywhere bragging that it's a top salon. Those that need to boast the most are the full of HOT AIR! It's sad that we live a world now with such narcissistic ego maniac business owners who care nothing for people( even during the holiday time of year, which is disgusting). They only care about their EGO AND MONEY!! I was threatened and demeaned by the owner unnecessarily left the salon distraught and shaken and with my daughter's hair wet. I would like to say I'm really sad that my daughter lost a great stylist (Anne). I felt the other managers acted professionally. Unfortunately, the owner's out of control behavior is what's horrible about this salon. It all started with the lack of transparency of pricing before the service which the owner refused to accept blame. He stated the board stated $15 and up for a toner service. I was not told the price of my daughter service and only had a rough idea from other salons about what it costs. I assumed it would be a little lower than higher end salons. Regardless, any proper professional salon practice is for the stylist to discuss their individual price with the client before the service. I was shocked to find that is was so high ( the price of regular color) and complained about it the manager. Without going into great detail the situation could have been handled better by the owner didn't step in and started yelling like a maniac, demeaning me by calling me cheap and to get the hell out and go to another salon. When I told him I had experience as a hairdresser in the past and know about prices and professional practices he told me flat out he knew why I was not a hairdresser anymore and asked me why I stopped doing hair. I was in shock!! Where does a business owner get off making that judgements about me knowing nothing about me or my life.It was so unnecessary and completely insensitive. It was like he was taking all of his anger out on me. At one point, even though I did my best to not raise my voice while the owner was yelling at me. I could not believe he threatened to call the police on me for...
Read moreMy first trip to this Fantastic Sams for a haircut was a disaster. I have short hair and the woman absolutely hacked it. A week later I called and spoke with the owner whom did the right thing and invited me back to another stylist whom he felt was better, and she was. I have requested her for more than three years now. The problems started when I would go in for highlights (49.99) and a cut (12.99), but when I would check out the owner would tell me my total was 86.00. I would tell him that if I had come in for a just a cut. it was between 10 and 15 dollars depending upon if I brought a coupon, and highlights were $49.99, so where is the extra $25.00 coming from. I was told that $20 was for the style and $5 was for blow drying. I then explained that this wasn't stated upfront and I would never request to have this done. My hair is very short and I live a few blocks away. As far as a "style" goes, my hair looked "brushed" not styled. I don't care any after product in my hair, but I expect the upsell for product, I have no trouble saying no. It got to the point after having to argue about the hidden styling/blow dry fee three times. they said they would put it in my file, so it would come up when I checked out, to remind them. So now for the past year since this happened, every time I call for an appointment, the owner who runs the front desk tells me that she is booked. This is fine, I can find another place. I do feel bad for the stylist though, she loses out on an easy cut, and I always tipped her $20 bucks. Oh well, she can talk to...
Read moreI experienced very poor customer service. If you are going to receive any type of color service, I suggest you look elsewhere. Fantastic Sams Plymouth will NOT work with you. They will offer to book another appointment, at full price.
I believe I spoke with Todd Wells (the owner from my understanding), who works the front desk. I called up about 30min after my appointment on 9/24/21 to state that I was unhappy about my results. I requested that the stylist start to lighten my root line from very bright blonde to medium blonde. She (Camelia) was professional as always, and color is a very difficult objective. However, after paying their rate of $75 and 2 hours in the chair, I left with the same color hair as before. I left with hair just as it was when I entered, other than it was washed and combed well. This is not the service I paid for. When I called the salon shortly after my appointment on 9/24, the person answering the phone, who I believe was the owner, was difficult to speak with on the phone and insisted that I come in before he could discuss anything further, stating that what I paid was fair market value.
I stopped at the salon today late morning 9/25. Mr Wells was unhelpful. I suggested that I book a follow up appointment to fix the color at 1/2 price. He stated he is unwiling to accomodate, despite the fact that I have used his salon for several years and have also brought my young children to this salon. Very...
