Portneuf Valley Farmers Market — Attraction in Pocatello

I love supporting my local community however this place is so overpriced. The vendors are very nice and welcoming. I would like to sell my wares here because I make some killer salsas however $100 every Saturday plus 6% of the total earnings for that day is outrageous for a small business just getting started. They should be ashamed of this because the farmers market is for the community and for us to support one another but charging that much every Saturday is price gouging. If it was $100 per month and then a small percentage of sales that day; its way more doable. Very disappointed with the outrageous fees these poor vendors have to pay. I used to attend the PVFM close to every weekend. This year I wanted to be a vendor. I did everything they asked. Got a tax ID for my small business, a sellers permit, a city permit, and their own special temporary permit, filled out their application and submitted everything for review appeoval and was then ghosted. I've emailed, called and left messages and text and I get no response. So instead of having something unique at their farmers market that is made right here in Pocatello, I'm taking my craft out of town to Blackfoot and Idaho Falls where they were excited to have a unique booth. If you haven’t had the chance to go to the Farmers Market down in Old Town Pocatello, you are missing out. There is a young girl who sells meat pies that are “to die for”. The lemonade stand has a huckleberrie-lime-aid that is so fabulous, you’ll want to go back for more. You have to try the Atomic Potato Chips from Arco. They have so many choices you’ll leave with more bags than you can carry. Bring the kids to swing on the new Lookout Credit Union jungle gym. There is always live music on the stage.
