Awesome place to visit. Probably one of the most beautiful houses I've had the priviledge to see on the island. It really gives an interesting look on the unique culture of Ponce. The owner of the house was a wealthy baker who founded the Bank of Ponce, and by seeing his house you can get an interesting peek at the life of the Ponce elite of the time. How this culture, composed of entrepreneurial immigrants from Europe, built a distinct culture and city that forms an integral part of PR history. Seeing the house reminds you of the culture and values of these people (both good and bad), and reminds us of our complex heritage. Gave it 4 stars because the second floor hardly has furnishing, so its less interesting. Still worth visiting, though! Tour guide was nice and well informed, and the house has a pretty nice bookshop with Puerto Rican books that are honestly pretty hard to find, so that was a nice surprise.
