Lola in Ponce, Puerto Rico, is an absolute culinary gem that deserves all the praise it can get. My recent dining experience at Lola left me utterly delighted and thoroughly impressed. From start to finish, every aspect of the meal was exceptional.
The Pork Belly with Ponzu reduction was a revelation. The combination of flavors was exquisite, and the pork belly itself was perfectly cooked – crispy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth tender on the inside. It was a true flavor explosion.
The Coffee-rubbed Hanger Steak with Sweet Potato Miso mash over root vegetables was nothing short of divine. The rich, aromatic coffee rub on the steak added a unique depth of flavor that paired wonderfully with the creamy sweet potato mash. The medley of root vegetables provided a delightful contrast in textures and tastes.
Dessert was an absolute showstopper – the Pistachio Crème Brûlée. It was a work of art, both in presentation and taste. The creamy pistachio custard with that perfect caramelized sugar crust was sheer perfection. It left a lasting impression that will keep me craving more.
The service at Lola was impeccable. Every member of the staff exuded professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness. They made us feel truly valued and added to the overall dining experience.
Lastly, I have to mention the Amaretto Sour with house-made sour cream. It was a revelation in cocktail craftsmanship. The balance of flavors and the creaminess of the house-made sour cream took this classic cocktail to a whole new level. It was, without a doubt, the best Amaretto Sour I've ever had.

Read moreTerrible food and horrible staff! Arrived here for dinner. Within five minutes, I had a cocktail on the table. The cocktail was horrible. It was water down grateful juice with sugar rim. I kindly asked for the server to remake it. This, however, took 25 minutes, 7 minutes into my actual meal. We also ordered the tuna taquitos that are really just wonton tacos. Additionally, we ordered the ceviche as appetizers. None of these two apps had any flavor. Also, quite misleading in the description, as described above. Next, we had the ahí tuna, which was basically a tuna steak cut in half and Panda Express fried rice. No flavor, a little grease and not good at all. My partner ordered the burger which was dried and plenty overcooked. The waiter was not pleasant, and again, took 25 minutes to bring me a drink. I would understand that they were understaffed; however, it’s not like they were giving me a discount on the food to wait that long. The food is not good so I...
Read moreDuring our visit to the annual Ponce Carnival, we stumbled upon Lola’s while strolling down the street. Seeking a respite from the heat, we opted to relax with a refreshing drink and a light snack. It turned out to be a fantastic choice! The food and beverages were simply amazing! We went for the Carne Asada and the Naan Flatbread—calling them delicious doesn’t do them justice. The flavors were incredibly vibrant, and the presentation was stunning. To cool off, we kicked things off with a Moscow Mule. So impressed with that drink, we couldn’t resist trying a Cosmopolitan and an Old Fashioned next—each one was delightful. The bartender, John, showcased remarkable skill and was a joy to chat with. We can’t wait for our next...
