I have enjoyed the produce and vegetable I’ve purchased here since moving to this area 4 yrs ago, even though they are overpriced!! Prices are not listed so you never know until you get to checkout. HOWEVER, last week I purchased frozen butterbeans and pink-eye peas. While cooking them I noticed leaf pices, hulls, and debris collecting at the top..I dipped them out, more arose. I called them and Denise answered the phone. I asked why this was happening. She said they don’t wash nor blanch any of their frozen veggies. They tasted aweful!! Call me old school, but I was raised in southern GA and we grew our own veggies. I was taught to freeze food they must be washed and blanched. It would have been helpful if they had told me or labeled them unwashed and I blanched!! The two produce stores I used before moving here were Curtis in Tifton and Farmer Briwn’s in Valdosta washed and blanched their veggies! I never knew any produce store that didn’t! Even Ole Times sells frozen veggies and they have been washed and blanched! ( support a local business) … only the lady who help me almost seemed disappointed and disgusted that the people at register asked her to help me. She was very short with me, rude , and rolled her eyes when coming out the door to see I was on the other side of the wall walking towards her. So I asked “ are you okay?” She replied with “yeah- just looking for you.”
I simply replied with “ have a blessed day “ and headed to another store.
Maybe she was having a bad day? Maybe she does not care for the shade of my skin? I’m not sure but either way customer service is everything. Needless to say, sadly , I will not be back and will not recommend. Even if I am traveling alone...
