BEWARE, price gougers. Just because we live on an island doesn’t mean you can charge astronomical prices. I’m a local (class of 2002) Went in as a walk in tonight, no customers, a friend and I wanted to get simple tattoos. Price quoted was $120 a piece. When I said I will go elsewhere because I know the price would be $45 at another tattoo shop off island (truthfully cheaper because they give a military discount) and the artist started trashing the tattoo shop. At that point I informed him that I got all 5 of my tattoos at that particular tattoo shop he was trashing and walked out. Very unprofessional. Price gouging just because we live in Port A. Please take your business elsewhere. Picture of the two tattoos he wanted $120 a piece for.
Update: for response to owner. Added a photo of what the artist sent after writing a review.
If you’re going to run a business, bad reviews are part of it. Your Harley is not my concern. I came in at 9:30 and your posted business hours state you close at 10. I wrote this review after walking out of your shop. So if I was drunk as you state, then I must be the most eloquent speaking drunk there is. And a retaliation review. BAD BUSINESS!
Update: I got my first tattoo at 36 and I’m 40. I’m not sure when I got my last tattoo. I know it was more than a year ago though before James Folsem died, friend and owner of Electric Sunset Tattoo. The tattoo shop you decided to say such terrible things about. Don’t trash other small business owners to try and...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. Tonight was our last night in Port A and my moms birthday. She wanted a simple beach tattoo and Vega seemed to have a good rating so we went with him. We walked in and he was immediately rude. He then kept saying things that were sarcastic and rude but we just brushed it off. There was a customer there in front of us so we asked ABOUT how long it would take so we could come back, he says an hour and a half. We come back an hour and a half later and when we walked in he happened to be wiping the tattoo he was doing and I thought he was done- I said “you said an hour and a half and it’s been exactly that!” meaning wow that was perfect timing. Well he wasn’t done yet and thought I was complaining that it had already been an hour and a half and his response was to just flip me off. It took me and my mom by surprise, honestly I was just so confused. My mom tried to clear things up and he then says something about her being disrespectful for being in the customers space while she’s paying for her time. This man literally flipped me off for one comment that he misunderstood. We will never try coming here again, and honestly I should have read all of the 1 star reviews before coming because that’s not someone I would want to be in the...
Read moreThe artist “Sofik Ink” is wonderful. She’s patient, understanding, and honestly far too nice for a lot of the walkin clientele. The management of the establishment however is slacking. Understaffed, under managed, and overpriced for the type of work. When artists aren’t able to make a living because of the company up-charge, it makes those of us not getting a $100 flash piece notice. We have traveled getting work from some of the most experienced, and famous artists around. Those of which aren’t required to tack on ridiculous fees (cards, minimums, etc) on top of the artists work. Payment to the owners is necessary to utilize their establishment of course. But the expectation is that the establishment itself will deliver more than a closet with one person working at a time. I bet I watched 6-8 $300+ clients walk out within the 2 days we scheduled. All because one artist simply can’t actively work and be expected to...
