If you looking to come back to school, no matter your age or position in your life your in, this is a great school and by far the best campus and staff belongs here! I am currently enrolled in the MA program and it has been of great pleasure to be here! Everyone has things they have to deal with in life, whether it be something with their children or a family memeber but God forbid it be something that you May feel peel you back from school, they work with you! This campus by far has been the best college I’ve went to and really family oriented. I remember a few weeks ago getting traumatic news about my father and crying bc it all happened while at school and I walked out my classroom to gain my composure and the director or the whole school, Mr Reynolds stopped what he was doing and was talking to me along with a teacher by the name of Mrs. A, and they made me calm down by comforting me and even bought me a water! Every day since they check on me and the status of my father. Then you have these teachers who are really there because they love to be, not to get a check! Mrs. Esla was my teacher for 3 classes and you can just feel the passion from her and I love how she makes you feel confident in what your doing. Mrs Young has got to be one of the most patient teachers I know! She will work with you til you get it done right no matter how long and it’s simply because she cares about what she does and she wants you to succeed when you are in a real medical office! I haven’t had the pleasure to be in one of Mrs Shawdocks classes yet but she is always open to talk and there for you! She really helped me confirm my position as to my thoughts of possibly dropping. Then you have Mrs Nicole who is the lively energy source of the school. I say this because that teacher no matter what has a smile on her face and so full of energy and beyond caring. For heaven sakes every staff at this school even the secretary upfront, Mrs Shelby is amazing and there for you! I could really write a book about this school tbh! I am totally going to be forever grateful to be a part of a school that is so loving and caring and really like my second home! I love my family here and being a part of it and anticipating graduating and crying...

I was sent in to the school from a graduate that took a program here. When I arrived I was automatically treated just like family and I wasn’t even a student yet! I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Alicia helped me by taking very valuable time and asking me questions that would help me make the ultimate life changing discussion that I’ve needed. We went over a few things and she also involved my sister who tagged along with me she absolutely loved that she got to see the labs and the school. Before I knew it Alicia asked when I was wanting to get started I told her as soon as possible. She said it was perfect timing a class starts next month, before I knew it I was signing up for my very first class, filling out for my financial aid. The staff here is OUTSTANDING!!!!! They are very understanding, if you need to talk with anyone their doors always open, they listen and always have you feeling better before you leave their office! The Medical Assistant program is where it’s at! Great instructors only month long classes that I love only 4 hour days and I still have time to do things that need to get done...

If you are making a major life change to help secure your future and are hesitant about going to college at the age of 50, Southern Technical College will put you at ease! Just sitting in the front lobby observing everything and everyone you will quickly notice staff, as well as, students greet each other on a personal level. Everyone is happy, friendly and outgoing. They walk you through every step of registering. They talk with you one on one to see where your interests are. And they build up your confidence when you need the reassurance that you ARE capable of taking that big leap of going to college later in life. They make follow-up calls and emails to check in on you and to answer any questions you may have. They do not leave you hanging once you begin the process.
