After years of planning and delays, this park came into being. It is a smaller park, but it offers great fishing, clean restrooms, picnic areas & playground. If fishing just make sure you plan for the tides as the Laguna Madre will come over the rocks to the shore at high tide. They need to add lights along the walkway as it would help during the morning/evening hours. One down point is the amount of trash visitors leave all over. Read moreI have fished this area for many years way before it became a city/county park. Now that the city's been showcasing it for all to see, this location's been fished out. It's really sad. Everyone's going, catching, and taking every fish from there. I have practiced catch n release and now it's gotten to a point where you hardly even get a bite. There's warning signs about walking in the water and it should be heeded because it's pretty dangerous.
