Burnside Skatepark — Attraction in Portland

A skatepark that needs no introduction. But I'll give you one anyway.

Burnside is the originator of the DIY movement in skateboarding. It was built illegally by skateboarders from the ground up in 1990 and is one of the most famous and recognisable skateparks in the world. The city of Portland now recognises it as a legitimate, permanent public skatepark.

Its foundation lead to two of the biggest skatepark construction companies in the country- Grindline and Dreamland, who combined have built hundreds of skateparks.

So yes basically Burnside is the Grandfather of all skateparks.
