I was honestly kind of bummed about the hotel. The reason I’m rating it with two stars is because the front desk gave me a room with an air conditioner that blew out cold air. The first room was super hot and humid.
In photos it looks incredible, but in reality its seriously just a old motel. Of course some paint and modern decor fixes that, but I could even see through that. The beds were so old, I don’t even think they sell mattresses like that anymore. The colored ones? Yea definitely not. if you took the sheets off you could see so many gross stains and spills. Sleeping was tough, you could even feel every spring the mattress had. The room was old with really dirty carpet that felt like grass. I was told it may get a little noisy because of the bar. Had I known that before booking I would have stayed at the Jupiter next. I work for a boutique hotel in tx. So I get it, old hotel can be turned into something dope. My hotel is rated Forbes four star for turning into dope. We charge the same price this place was & this experience was not cool. I felt so robbed for the money I paid. 😔
No mini fridge/ breakfast/ coffee maker/ parking nada. Parking was additional with valet, and at that the car was parked in a lot a block away. (Hence plenty of homeless people walking & yelling aimlessly at night) I was so afraid of the car getting robbed. I walked to valet twice to tell them to put my car in the garage.
If your staying downtown stay at their new hotel and get your money’s worth. Honestly it’s really sad that for a few bucks more you could sleep in absolute comfort at their new property a few feet away. If they had allowed me to transfer I would have been so happy.
Thanks for the burned food in the morning at your restaurant as well. You would have laughed so much seeing how the cooks tried to put all the burned sides of the food upside down so that they wouldn’t be noticed. When I asked the server is all my food suppose to be this black and burned as I turned all the food over... he was like uhm, no. Swear it was like an hour to receive my burned food in a empty restaurant. Then gave me a new plate in five minutes. Insane. So when and if management apologizes for my stay not being comfortable, It honestly doesn’t even matter because you guys aren’t the ones dishing out money to stay in a hotel room that felt so dirty. Even the bathtub had black stains. I’m just disappointed. Disappointed in companies that do this to people.
Please have your corporate throw those beds out, have housekeeping scrub the tubs, carpet cleaners treat the carpets, maybe even add bedbugs covers to make people feel comfortable. Sorry for this rant but I feel that a company should take pride in the service they give to the people that spend money to...
Read moreMy review is based on the “Jupiter Original” side which is laid out like a standard motel (only two stories, rooms open directly to outdoors) and priced consistent with other motels in the area, so a little lower than the “Jupiter Next”/hotel side. As such, I’m comparing it to other motels at a similar price.
Pros: Central location, clean, comfortable mattress (but byo pillow, theirs are anemic), properly functioning heater, allows pets
Cons: No free parking on-site so you have to pay an additional fee for either garage or lot parking (the entrances to what would be the parking lot in a standard motel are blocked, some of the lot space seems to be set up for potential use for events but that was never in use the week I was there), very limited amenities - no mini-fridge, no microwave, no coffee maker, and absolutely no clothing storage (nothing resembling a dresser or closet and not even one of those foldable suitcase rack things), no outdoor space for pets to relieve themselves (most pet-friendly motels I’ve encountered have at least a little grass or dirt patch for dogs to go, this lot has been entirely covered in concrete so, if you’re traveling with pets, you’ll have to walk elsewhere for them to use the bathroom). Also, this may be room-specific, but the bathroom fan did not work and the windows in the room do not open, so it gets stuffy if you shower.
Overall, this place reeks of a lot of capital invested by people with very little understanding of what makes a motel hospitable who prioritized cheesy aesthetics that they imagined might appeal to (their infantilized idea of) millennials over providing basic amenities. If you want groovy lucite chairs, a pop art wall mural, and a chalkboard door in your motel room - cool, this is the place for you. If you want a place to put your stuff, store your restaurant leftovers, and feel somewhat human while traveling - look elsewhere. Looks like the motel across the street is cheaper and has mini-fridges, microwaves, and furniture with drawers, but doesn’t allow pets, so wouldn’t work for me.
TL;DR - wouldn’t recommend if you are traveling for more than one night or with pets, but it’s...

It’s 11pm on a Sunday. I have work tomorrow. There is currently obscenely loud rock music coming through the walls of my room 229.
I called the front desk to see if they could deal with the obnoxious noise issue. I was informed that the hotel has a bar side and a non-bar side. If you are unlucky enough to get a room on the bar side, then you run the risk that the Oak Room, which shares a parking lot with the hotel, will be having a dance party that will be going on until 2am, and there’s nothing that the hotel staff can do about it.
After looking at other similar reviews on Google, I suspect the hotel staff will probably reply to this review saying that I need to contact the web site I booked the room through to let them know of an anomaly in this hotel’s profile since their site should show options for the quiet/loud sides. Apparently this is my problem? How? In the hotel staff’s reply to this review I would like them to explain this. Unacceptable response to your guests, guys.
The desk clerk I spoke with offered a room in a different part of the hotel that is quieter, but that would only be for two of the nights I have booked since the hotel is fully booked; I would have had to move back to the noisy room for the last two nights of my stay. This is a semi-reasonable accommodation on the part of the hotel staff, but to be honest, it felt like lip service and the inconvenience was unacceptable at the time. If I had known the noise could be an issue then I would have never booked this hotel.
I will not book this hotel again, and I’m tempted to cancel my reservation now to look elsewhere. The noise here is really unacceptable given the fact that I’m paying for this room. Jupiter hotel has basically lied to me in making me think this is a good place to rest.
Update: since I booked this through a travel site for work, the reservation cancellation deadline was the day before I arrived, so I’m stuck here listening to the party for the...
