This place is a terrible choice for any mac user to go to. I brought my mac in and was charged $300 to replace the DC jack. The attendant also convinced me to buy a $20 charger. The DC jack looks like crap and the charger is used. My computer still doesn't charge occasionally and I have to constantly check if it's charging or not. My computer is running hotter than before, there's new sounds coming from within it that I have never heard before and the power cord is so hot that I'm afraid it will damage the crappy DC jack that was installed.
On top of all of this, the receipt has absolutely no information put on it aside from the cost of the parts. There's no cost of the flat fee, there's no telling what they did to my computer inside and when I asked the attendant only said "oh, well we replaced the DC jack and a few other components that were damaged inside your computer." I asked again and he pointed to the back bottom portion of the computer and said "all along here there was damage from your previous DC jack." When I started my computer at home, my mac no longer booted into bootcamp Windows, but booted into my original Mac HD and my desktop was rearranged--why mess with my software when it's a hardware fix? and why rearrange my desktop?
In my experience of Computer Repair Shops, they give you detailed information on what parts the replaced, the cost of each part, the cost of labor and knowledge of whether or not the parts are used.
I wish I had coughed up extra money to go to a professional shop.
The attendant however was incredibly friendly and a good salesman.
tl;dr Quality = poor. Poor parts used to repair my computer. Appeal: Poor. only a little cheaper than professional mac repair shops. Service: Poor. No knowledge of what they did, what the costs actually were, incredibly...
Read morePortland location. I walked in and explained what was going on with my computer, the woman at the register took it in back and immediately came back out and said it'll be $150 for him to look at it as he doesn't know what's wrong with it. how could he know what's wrong with it if he didn't even look at it? she also said that the $150 was a flat rate and non-refundable, so basically they could charge $150 and just say that there isn't anything wrong with it and I don't receive anything back. and when I asked questions about this, she was very argumentative. complete waste of time.
update to your reply today May 13. your reply is even argumentative. I asked basic questions and she was very rude when responding. I did not accuse anyone of anything, but did ask what would be the incentive to fix my computer if you already received the $150 non-refundable deposit required. I did not expect an immediate diagnostic or for them to look at it right then and there. I also did not like that the technician did not even come out to introduce themselves and talk to me, which I found to be very rude and disrespectful. I did find another place in Portland that does free diagnostics who has been in business for 15 years and will be taking my computer there. and the person I spoke with on the phone was very nice, very informative, and was very upfront about any charges that might occur based on the issue with my computer. and considering how you treated me yesterday and how you responded to my review today, I am shocked that you have been in business as long...
Read moreLove going in here. They can fix most anything thats computerized. Have an old Samsung Tab3, needed a tune up. Diagnostics costed me $20 and then they told me the problem. Fixed it for $20 more. I saw for sale great resale prices on iPhones , laptops and computers.
2020: Now Iâve bought 3 phones here and 1 laptop computer for myself. Iâve had my computer tuned up, new phone batteries put in, key fob died in the parking lot the day I went in to pick up a special order I had made. YESSS they also fix key fobsâŠfor the rental I was driving đ±. My grandsons friend was ready to buy his first laptop. Heâd been looking around and comparing prices. I drove him to Fixoid to check out their computers. I wasnât surprised when he left with a new laptop and case. He also bought a iPhone. You will find that a tiny store has so many options. I was looking at some of their old phones that they carried. If you had a favorite phone from years back and cannot find a place to get it replacedâŠtake a look and see if they carry it. They have gaming computers at prices better than most of the big chain electronics stores. They have iPads, iPodâs, Tablets, laptops, computers, replacement batteries for all the above. Accessories for your electronics. If you have something that you donât see in stores, itâs very likely they can special order it. I needed a 25ft audio Jack. Got it specially orderedâŠtalk to Ben and see what they...
