Hannaford — Attraction in Portsmouth

This review is particularly for the amazing staff that run the Hannford To Go portion of the store, #8149. I order grocery pick ups at least every other week and have never had any issues. This past Monday, I picked up an order when it was raining like crazy so things were understandably a bit rushed. When I got home with my order, there was an item missing that I was charged for. No biggie, I called the store and they were so incredibly polite and kind and apologetic about it. I wish I snagged the girls name that I spoke with as she was so sweet. They not only immediately reimbursed me for the item but I just opened the mail and received a hand written card along with a gift certificate. A million stars for customer service if I could. Place an order pick up. Not many items and placed order by 10 am on a weekday. Extremely disappointed in their shoppers and quality of food. 1 item was a dozen eggs - they packed them on their side in a bag with a half and half. I took bag out of car when I got home to discover egg had broken in bag. They’re too expensive for this! 1 item was a deli rotisserie chicken $5.99 (nearly same cost as dozen eggs) chicken was from day before and severely overcooked- came from cold department instead of hot even though I ordered before noon. Again- very dry overcooked gross chicken. 1 item was a ripe on vine tomato… to which they just tossed in a bag and it was punctured and soft. In total waste of around $12. Save your money and time- go to a less...

As a shopper, everyone here is sooooo nice. They all go above and beyond (well, except for that one person who hates shoppers, you know who you are). And the people in the kitchen and bakery are amazing. Huge thanks for having an affordable and wonderful hot breakfast!! So many good things to say.

EDIT. I’ve been away for over a year now. I am now 3,000 miles away from you, homemade double chocolate chunk brownies. I am a world away, affordable hot breakfasts (in admittedly questionably burning hot plastic containers). I think of you so often. How does the rest of America live without you?
