I'm not someone who attends church, but, this church has and still is at the heart or center of downtown Portsmouth. I went to a lecture on the history of the North Church and not only learned about the history of the congregations and pastors before and during the church, but, how it is tied to the history of Portsmouth and it's continued presence in downtown Portsmouth. The lecturer said the Wikipedia page 📄 is about 50% accurate. I'm just learning the history. I remember this church from my childhood and while growing up, something I'm still working on. There was and still is activity going on in front of this historic building. Music 🎶, political rallies, people painting 🎨🖌️, taking pictures and even the Black Heritage Trail has a sign posted here. G W , the first 🥇 President of the United States, visited here. I visited after reading an article about the church in the Sunday edition of the Portsmouth Herald. I hope tours will start again. Facemasks are required to enter. The stained glass windows are a sight to behold at sunset 🌇. Basic two level design with padded pews. You can't miss it! The clock ⏰ still chimes.

“an Open and Affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ. We welcome and affirm people of any sexual orientation” I was going to ask their thoughts on the sexual orientation of Jesus and the 12 men that followed him around but the doors were locked. Built in 1657 & rebuilt in 1800’s. Apparently has no historical significance unrelated to sex.

The North Church is a beautiful building that stands out in the heart of downtown Portsmouth. Its tall steeple and classic design make it one of the most recognizable landmarks in the area. The church's architecture, with bright white and red brick, makes it a very impressive sight.

(No meu caso, Gilmore Girls!)
