Stopped by Cheese Louise in Portsmouth, NH and had the Canadian with house made maple lemonade and garlic parm fries. The food was excellent and the prices were more than fair, but what really made the experience stand out was Josh. Watching him work was a treat. He made it a point to meet, greet, and personally connect with every customer, taking the time to explain the menu and make people feel welcome. The space itself has a warm, homey vibe, and Josh only adds to that atmosphere. He’s approachable, energetic, and clearly passionate about what he does. Grilled cheese is already a comfort food that brings you back to simpler times, and Josh has a way of making the entire place feel like home. To top it off, they donate $4 from the cost of the sandwich to support local community health efforts. It’s rare to find a place that serves great food, treats you like family, and gives back to the community. I’d come back any day.

Patriot was here! The Godmother grilled cheese. It's like an Italian sandwich with mozzarella and balsamic vinaigrette. Yummy Side of tomato soup and chips! With iced tea and beer

Stopped for a quick dinner on a road trip with small children. I've had their food truck food at a few events but never been in to their physical locations. It was easy to order and I loved that all the sandwiches were customizable to accommodate the little picky eaters. The house pickles are great and you should definitely order a side of them. The green muenster with roasted broccoli was a standout. Very cute space and the bathroom was very clean. They have board games and a few kids books, too. Brendon helped us and he was great, as was the guy working the back, though I didn't catch his name. Several of their options are vegetarian, the food is all nut-free, and they also offer gluten free bread and vegan cheese options, so this can be a good option for groups with diverse food needs.

My friends and I went to this restaurant for the first time. Three of the four of us ordered one drink each (important to note that because this was the first and only drink we had.) We came in because the place looked fun and they had games for us to play. We were playing uno and enjoying our drink having a great time. About an hour later, we were still having a blast playing a game, so we thought why not order another drink. Then, who we think was the owner, said he would no longer serve us due to a "strict policy". Because of this, we just left.

Afterwards we were talking about it and were confused, so we decided to call. We called the restaurant asking if we were cut off, or if there were maybe a policy for one drink per person. We were told, "yes, you were cut off." When asked why, we were told, "because we were loud and our faces were flush." It should be noted the restaurant was about 70/80° and one of us has rosacea.

We expressed on the phone that one of us was sober and three of us were having our first drink of the day.

We would have been more than happy to quiet down if someone was to come over to us to express we were being loud, but not one person came over. Also, note that there was no mention of anyone in the store complaining about us 'being loud', and not one worker came over to express that we were.

All in all, we won't be back - not because we were cut off, but because of the lack of transparency and not having a conversation with us. The upsetting part was that we were enjoying a drink, games, and each others' company before...

I really wanted to love this place but the value wasn't there. We passed it so many times and every time I imagined cheesy gooey heaven waiting inside. When I got my food it was maybe one slice/bit of cheese per sandwich half, barely detectable, and a few begrudging crumbles of the rest of the sandwich's contents, for both me and my husband. The flavor itself wasn't bad but it didn't blow us away. At half the price it might have been a great deal.

Maybe this place started out with truly amazing food, maybe the pandemic nibbled away at what they could offer. I'm mystified by it.

Another thing they do here which dinged the experience for me was no soda, and very limited beverage selection in general. Only option for water was canned which was okay ish but strange?

The service and atmosphere was pleasant which is why I feel bad leaving a middling review but I simply don't understand how the hype is so great for these sandwiches. Adjust your expectations. Maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised but don't go in like I did, expecting...
