Wow, a recent visit to this amazing shop and another family heirloom gained. I love to shop from artists directly and whether you go to their Portsmouth, NH store (the one I currently visited) or the Newburyport, MA store, you can likely meet Mr. or Mrs. Kaya, the artisan jewelers themselves. As usual I was astounded at the vast variety of high quality, one-of-a-kind creations and Mrs. Kaya waited on me personally (assisted by her excellent staff). Mrs. Kaya is very wonderful and gave me an amazing price for a one-of-a-kind bracelet created by her husband. When I presented it the joy was overwhelming but I knew that was going to happen. I don't think anyone could have hated this bracelet, and made to last for generations. If you want to create a lifelong memory that can be past down, go to Kaya Jewelry. Their artwork is better than the stock market. Real gemstones and precious metals. Every purchase is an investment. My first introduction to Kaya was when my son, my husband, and I went into the store to look at their jewelry when we were vacationing in the Portsmouth area over the Christmas holidays. My son wanted to buy a gift for his girlfriend and the store windows were so attractive and inviting! My son had a limited budget but he was treated with such respect and kindness by Dinah, one of the fantastic employees. She listened to his description of what he was looking for and she showed him so many appropriate but affordable options. She treated him as though he was planning to spend 10 times as much money on the gift. For my 45th wedding anniversary my husband had planned to give me a piece of jewelry and there was only one place we wanted to shop - Kaya! When we were there earlier we both were struck by the variety and beauty of their jewelry. The gems and settings are unique and very eye catching. The ladies at the Portsmouth location are INCREDIBLE!!! Dinah helped us discover my one of a kind ring in July of 2024. It had been made by the shop’s namesake and owner! When we returned in December (just before Christmas) we were amazed to find it was still there! When I was overcome with sticker shock, Dinah did not pressure me at all! She very kindly and discretely let me and my soon to be fiancé know that we could purchase it via layaway. Earlier this week my boyfriend and I decided that, if it was still available, we would put a down payment on it. Miraculously, as if it were waiting for me, we found it was still available!
