As an adult returning student taking online classes in the Communication Program at Johnson and Wales University's College of Professional Studies, I've found this program to be a perfect fit for my academic and professional goals. Here's why I believe it's an exceptional program for individuals like me:
One of the key advantages of this program is its flexibility. As someone balancing work, family, and other commitments, the online format allows me to pursue my degree without having to disrupt my existing schedule. I can access course materials, participate in discussions, and complete assignments from anywhere with an internet connection, making it convenient and manageable to juggle multiple responsibilities.
Despite the virtual format, the curriculum is robust and engaging, providing a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of communication. From interpersonal communication to digital media strategies, the coursework is designed to be relevant and applicable to today's rapidly evolving communication landscape. Plus, the online platform is user-friendly and intuitive, making it easy to navigate and stay on track with assignments and deadlines.
One of the highlights of this program is the support provided by the faculty and staff. Despite being miles away from campus, I've always felt connected and supported by my professors and Academic Advisor. They are responsive, understanding, and dedicated to helping me succeed in my academic and professional endeavors. Whether it's answering questions via email, scheduling virtual office hours, or providing constructive feedback on assignments, they go above and beyond to ensure that online students receive the same level of attention and support as their on-campus counterparts.
Speaking of Academic Advisors, mine has been an invaluable resource throughout my journey. As an adult returning student, I had specific goals and concerns about balancing academics with my other responsibilities. My advisor, Harry Ryan, Jr., took the time to understand my unique situation and provided personalized guidance and support every step of the way. From helping me map out my academic plan to offering advice on time management strategies, their expertise and encouragement have been instrumental in my success as an online learner.
Overall, I highly recommend the Communication Program at Johnson and Wales University's College of Professional Studies to adult returning students seeking a flexible and supportive learning environment. With its convenient online format, comprehensive curriculum, and dedicated faculty and advisors, this program offers a pathway to academic and professional growth for individuals balancing multiple commitments.
Additionally, the big plus is that my daughter has chosen to attend JWU in the Fall of 2024, mainly because this is where I go to school. I...
Read moreI am a very independent student that enjoys taking classes at a different pace than many other people and this is where JWU shined. The online courses really allowed me to go at a more advanced pace than in a classroom. I was able to still interact with my classmates as I would in the physical and that's the part I truly enjoyed.
Being online you are able to have access to so much information at your fingertips so much faster which adds more substance to our class discussions I feel. I appreciate my teachers being accessible through phone calls and even Skype/Google hangout when we needed group project support!
The curriculum seems more relaxed and still challenging. The tutoring center is the most amazing part (outside of the professors and conveniences) of the online courses. Having 24/7 access is amazingly helpful, especially during exams when I am usually free at nights during the week.
Thank you Johnson & Wales for offering a FULL MBA ONLINE!!! this has been super helpful for me to advance in my career while still striving to do such working physically out in the industry. It shows employers how serious I am about being I a higher up position and this creates more great...
Read moreWords can not express, how grateful I have been to Johnson & Wales University and the School of Online & Continuing Education. I received my Associates and Bachelor's degrees from the Charlotte campus in May 2010 and loved the entire experience. I have always wanted to go back to school to obtain my Master's degree but never found the right graduate school that fit my needs, educational and career goals. Then I received an email from the alumni association about the introduction to the online graduate studies that changed everything. After speaking with a couple of advisers, I knew it was the perfect fit. It has been great to know that my entire college and graduate education has been through this school. The academic advisers have been there for any questions or concerns that have come up. I appreciate that my academic adviser calls up every couple weeks to check on me to see how I am doing and how my classes are going. To know you are still getting the personalized attention even across the country is great. I have nothing but positive and encouraging words to say about this school. I am proud to be a Wildcat and will be proud to receive my Master's Degree from...
