I recently visited Olympic Records for the first time and was quite impressed. The first thing I noticed was that David Johansen's "Here Comes the Night" was playing, which I appreciated. The store is a decent size and, but was good and well-organized. Kevin, the owner, was friendly and knowledgeable. Often, record store owners and/or staff can be judgmental and pretentious, and Kevin was neither. I traded in a handful of LPs and a couple of dozen 45s, and he gave me a fair price, which I used to purchase some LPs. All the records I bought were in VG+ condition and played great. Read moreFolks of a certain age recall the ole' record store. I am one of them. I walked into this place and was transported back in time. The inventory is carefully and thoughtfully displayed. Just looking around, you can see that Kevin loves his craft and nurtures it (and his customers) very carefully.
I walked in with a large collection of vinyl LP's and 45's, cassettes, and CD's. He not only helped me schlep it all from the car (thanks man, my back loves you) but he took quite some time lookin through it.

Read morewent in here with my boyfriend last weekend and absolutely loved the cute pictures across the entrance. the owner was very friendly and shared a conversation with my boyfriend when he had questions and even newly packaged a vinyl he was specifically looking for just for him. a good selection of oldies and i was pleased to see a lot of vinyls i usually look for in the sections, and also the japanese version of sunshine of your love by cream. so sick! will revisit when i have more...
