I could not have asked for a better venue to work with for our special day. Between the amazing ambiance of the space and the ability to bring in our own food, bartender, and DJ, it was everything we cold of dreamed of. With my husbands family being greek/Italian it was very important to them that they were able to cook and serve their own food at the wedding, and at this venue that's exactly what we were able to do and hardly anywhere else in the valley can you have this flexibility with providing your own vendors. I was a bit stressed out due to the size of our families, we realized we had over invited just a tad, and there was still plenty of room for everyone including being able to step out into the patio space. We had to of had at least 300 people at the reception, and 120ish at the ceremony.
Between needing to use the patio area last minute to cook the food and open it up the space more, to being able to arrive early to set up decor and whatnot, to always responding so quickly to the calls/questions/texts of a stressed out bride, I am convinced every wedding venue needs a person like Courtney! She was so so amazing to work with and made my day run 10000% smoother. They are so lucky to have her as apart of The Startup Building.
The venue also comes with tables, chairs, catering tables and a few other odds and ends which makes it that much easier when booking the venue. 10/10, always will...
Read moreYou need to know these things about the Startup Building: 1) the wireless mic audio system is a garbled acoustic mess. It truly ruined the the speaking portions of the wedding and reception. Shameful. 2) parking is limited and guests that park in the lot across the street (at the apartments) can/will get ticketed and a boot by Provo's pathetically infamous parking mafia troll scum that gets rich off of parking "violations". Shameful. 3) the restroom situation is not conducive to providing a place to change a baby's diaper. Super shameful. 4) there's not a quiet lounge area to sit for your guests who may need to sit in a more quiet spot for a bit, like young parents with babies/toddlers or older guests. Shameful again.
The venue has kind of a cool vibe but they need to address some things to make it better...
Read moreAttended a wedding at this venue where indoor and outdoor events have a special twist. It was difficult to see the happenings in the front due to wood posts. Seems like a good place for smaller events due to lack of parking and construction in the area. My husband and I wish we had known there is a Front Runner station across the street. It would have been convenient to ride from the South Jordan station to Provo end of the line instead of hubby complaining about the roads, construction, and parking. Be considerate of your guests and let them know about the lack of parking and the Front Runner station across the street when you send out invitations. I couldn’t take pictures during the event unless close up in the bridal party’s space. These are the only pictures taken at this...
