Waves! This is a beach with great waves. The water gets to chest deep until about 100 feet off shore. We played in the waves for hours. There is a strip of kiosk stores and restaurants right next to the beach, so our large party could do whatever they wanted. Get a cocktail to drink on the beach or in a restaurant, shop, eat, explore, play in the waves. There are jet ski rentals and water board rentals. A fantastic family beach with lots to do. Parking is tight, if it's busy, I suggest you park to the west of the kiosks, by the big billboard. There is a large area to park on the east side of the large billboard, but you do have to walk a few steps to the beach (400 feet maybe). If it's busy, you'll get stuck at the kiosk parking for quite a while when you want to leave, so we utilize the west side parking. The beach directly behind the kiosks is full of garbage, so we stayed to the west side of the kiosks, by the big billboard. There the beach was not real busy and it was a big open area, the waves were big, and it was an easy walk to the kiosks. However, there was garbage thrown on the edges, but that's pretty much the proquo here in PR. Have fun!!
I stayed in PR for a total of 5 weeks between 2 visits. I left reviews as often as I could remember between all the rum drinks I had 😅. Take my reviews as you will. I was traveling with one other mom and 4 teenage girls. We had...
Read moreMore like Playa Infortunio. It is right next to a sketchy neighborhood with feral cats and dogs roaming around. Trash is scattered on the beach. There are a few pretty palm trees, but they were the only redeeming features. The water is shallow and uninviting with sea grass wrapping around your feet when you wade in it. Granted, I was there when it was raining, making the water look murkier and even less appealing than it already was, but I was sorely disappointed....
Read moreThe water is clear and the beach was clean. There are many nice resorts in the area with walking access, but the beach was never crowded. The view was beautiful there. You can freely walk up and down the beach in both directions and it creates a few small peninsulas that you can explore. On top of the great view, this beach is very close to the rainforest, so you can find rainforest plants and animals right on the edge of the beach. I found that particularly...
