We visited this restaurant a few days ago after leaving the private beach near it. Initially when I walked in, I just intended on asking about where we could find parking as my group hadn't quite decided yet where we wanted to eat. The young lady at the bar (Charlene) was so warm and ready to help that I decided that we would be eating there. I went back to my group and after getting the parking situation sorted, we all had an amazing lunch at El Jefe.
Charlene ended up being our waitress and her customer service skills were top notch! She went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of.
I don't remember the exact names of the food items we got but I know for sure we had a grilled fish with fries, battered onions, wings in a delicious fruit (I think guava) sauce and their house burger. 10s across the board! I feel like this litte restaurant really captured and showcased the heart and hospitality of Puerto Rico. We will certainly visit again on our next trip to...

From the moment I stepped into El Jefe Burger Shack, I knew I was in for something special—but nothing could’ve prepared me for the delicious ride I was about to take.
I ordered The Shack Explosion Burger and fries, and let me tell you—they weren’t lying about the explosion part! This burger was perfectly cooked, bursting with juicy flavor, and piled high with all the right toppings. Every bite was a mouthwatering mix of savory, cheesy, crispy goodness. The fries? Golden, crispy, and seasoned to perfection—none of that soggy stuff here.
And the service? Top-notch. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to love what they do. The good vibes matched the good food, and that’s a combo I’ll keep coming back for.
If you’re anywhere near this place and craving a burger that goes above and beyond, do yourself a favor and hit up Happy Burger Shack. Trust me—your taste buds...
Read moreThis is not the same place it was in 2011. We don't mind having enough time to finish an entire pitcher of delicios ginger mojitos before our simple order of burgers arrive. We do, however, expect for the order to be right. Onion rings and bacon for our burgers came AFTER our meal was done and they actually tried to charge us for it. Pico de gallo never arrived since they later told us they were out. You get ONE napkin per plastic silverware set for this finger food. Why not just put extra napkins on the table? I asked for a Michelob and was given an Ultra (big difference). When I asked for the check our server took the last 8oz of the pitcher when I wasn't paying attention and then asked if I was done with my 3/4 full glass. I'm Latino, don't tell me this was cultural. We paid our $60 and tried our best to focus on our fond memories of El Jefe 2011. Go for...
