My husband and I visited Puerto Rico for new year and had a very rough start. The law had just changed where you need a recent COVID test to enter the country and many hotels were not booking guests without the results. We were searching for an entire day of our short vacation until we met Hector, the owner. We didn't know at the time, but the greatest gift was instore for us. After staying the night we asked if there was any rooms available for the rest of our trip and he let us know that he will try and help us and they will contact us in a bit. Were really enjoyed that 1st night and were very hopeful to stay in his hotel, although our negative COVID test results were in and we were able to book anywhere. Later that day we received a text letting us know our stay was reserved. When we came back (it was new year night) we weren't even prepared for the surprise. Hector had given us the ocean view suite!!!!!!!!!! The ocean was right under our 2 balcony rooms, you could almost feel the water!!!!!! That night we didn't want to go anywhere, just enjoy the gift we received. Right at midnight the fireworks started and we had the best view in the entire hotel! I'm sure he had this reserved for him and his family to enjoy the night but he gave it to us. To add, he and his wife came up from the common area to give us a drink and wish us happy new year! In short, this is the only hotel me and my family will ever stay at in Puerto Rico. Family friendly, compassionate, absolutely safe, amazing service, hugeeee rooms, and the best ocean view in the area. I can't imagine we are the only guests to receive such blessing and I'm sure they are always ready to help others out. Thank you Hector and all here, we would have had a horrible trip if not for you. Thank you and see...
Read moreThe hotel is open for business post-Maria. Many parts of the building are new, having been replaced after the storm. The view of the sea from the hotel is beautiful.
The staff are very friendly and gave great restaurant suggestions. You can tell that some have been there for many years.
Streetlights in the adjacent area are still a bit sparse, so I would recommend having a car if staying here. There is a free parking lot for guests.
Beach access directly adjacent to the hotel is limited during winter months due to erosion and rising water levels over the years, but there is a beach not far away. You could walk, but again, due to lack of streetlights following the storm, it's best to take the car if you'll be out past sunset.
Having a car, this is a great base of operations for exploring the eastern part of the island. You can go kayaking in the Farjado area bio bay (open for business) or drive up to the rainforest (unfortunately still closed as of this writing, but you can get some scenic views by driving along the local roads in the area). If you are planning to be driving off the major highways into less urban areas, I would recommend a suitable vehicle. There are downed power lines, mudslides, and very...
Read moreGreat Experience Here, we enjoyed it so much we ended up staying there the whole time we were in Puerto Rico minus the day before we found this place. Nice quiet place, great views, directly on the beach every room I saw had at least a partial ocean view. You can't beat it for the price, I was kinda surprised the first morning when they asked what I would like for breakfast we had just assumed it would be a continental breakfast instead they cook for you every morning and have coffee ready too. It's nothing fancy egg's,toast, ham but the personal touch was something that stood out to me. Everyone that worked there was more than GREAT very friendly and accommodating. They let me pay cash too which was a plus for me, some hotels put those ridiculous holds on your card and what not and it's a hassle when your traveling on a budget and have multiple holds on your account. I highly recommend this place you will feel at home like we did those big hotel chains can't even compare to this place. Fantastic experience we look forward to our next stay when we have the...
