I am a former tenant of Park Square (when it was under different management) and was looking to return to the community. I viewed a unit and fell in love and the leasing professional did an amazing job selling me on the unit. Our communication thereafter was good and I applied for tenancy online. Sadly, we were denied. I understand building standards and all- especially since I am a former tenant but I also believe that extenuating circumstances should be considered. My credit is horrible and I hate that, but that’s because I went back to school for masters and doctorate degrees so of course I have student loans. I am also the sole caregiver for my husband and mother- both of whom are battling life threatening illnesses- so my bills have had to take a hit so that I could keep a roof over all of our heads (including all utilities). My income is well over what I would need to live at Park Square and the unit was well within my budget giving me an opportunity to slowly rebuild while providing a peaceful home. My husband and I are very quiet and would have been great tenants and I work with young people in the community so living at PS would have afforded me with less commute time to my program site, giving me more time to bring more programs to the neighborhood. When I contacted the office to find out if there was any opportunity for appeal, no one ever reached back out to me. I guess when you’re a “no”, you’re a nobody. I’m saddened, but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised given the other reviews that I’m seeing. I would hope that PS would take a prospective tenant’s WHOLE picture into account before refusing them. But thankfully, as others have said, there are several newer buildings going up, so maybe I’ll find a...
Read moreGosh I cannot give them zero stars!! Called them to see a one bedroom with a specific budget that I gave them. Drive 2 hours only for them to tell me the room I was interested in was already taken and that I could see their two bedroom unit. I’m there wondering why they want me to see a two bedroom when it’s just myself who will be staying there?! At that point I was already annoyed because I wasted my time and energy for nothing! I proceed to tell the agent I’m there for only the one bedroom and she informs me there’s another one bedroom I could see since the one I was interested in was already taken off the market by someone else. We get into this alleged one bedroom and there are construction workers working in there and I mean big wood on the floor, cabinets taken apart, fridge moved close to the bathroom and paint job in progress. I was so irritated because I’m not sure what in the world this agent thought I could take away from an apartment that was in progress! If this is how they treat prospective residents then you’re better off with your money elsewhere! Also the place was so dirty!!!! What you see online and what’s there in person are two different things. For one bedroom with no den for $2090, you’re better off going to another place like Station Village where you get a den, a patio, clean and spacious gym filled with equipment and better management! Listen to the reviews!!...
Read moreOnly good thing about this place is Near to the station. Kids has to go Grover Cleveland school. No Bus service. Maintenance is so Bad. When we move in found no water in the apartment and shower knob was missing, Hot water not working. taken one week to fix it. There was small GAS water heater in side the apartment. water heater stopped working after a month leaking gas. They taken 1 month to fix the issue. Still it is concern, It when you open water tap for about 5-10 sec Gas will leak in side the apartment. You need to keep the windows open to let the GAS out. There was Bad smell from out side due to MERK Pharma when you open the windows. Bed Mites are in the house . After good vacuuming they were gone. Washer was making high noise. They did not fixed since 3 months. Follow-up with management is time consuming task. You need to buy the water in winter due to salty water in winter. Expect to pay $200+/mo for electricity charges in summer months Also you need to buy a cart to carry the things from parking to your apartments. you don't find the cart provided by apartment. You need to give 60 days notice and one month penalty if you want to break the Lease....
