Super 8 by Wyndham Rahway/Newark — Hotel in Rahway

Our stay was terrible. We come in at night on wednesday before thanksgiving, 2018, & my husband Clarence Hynes checked us in. The next day, thanksgiving, i'm sitting on the toilet, & cold water starts dripping on me form the light fixture in the ceiling! It's getting all over me, the floor, my hair, my clothes, & the toilet before i can get off the toilet & grab some towels! When my husband goes to complain we found out it came from someone taking a shower upstairs! Management said they would soeak t them, because maintenance wasn't because it was thanksgiving. When my husband asked about changing rooms he was told there were no more available. I believe a night of our stay ahould have been knocked off or reduced for the inconvenience. I had just gotten my hair done nefore rhe long trip from north carolina, & this situation got my hair soak & wet. If course, my salon stylist was back home, so i had to buy products from cvs to do somerhing to it myself at the hotel before thanksgiving dinner. Fast forward to friday morning, i wake up to itchy bumps like chicken pox on my ankle. At the tine, i didnt know what to think, im wondering am i having an irration to the water that had driooed down from the ceiling on me, but i had washed that off. Then i'm thinking maybe it was tge cheap hotel soap. The next morning when i woke uo with more bumps, & these hurt & itched, i thought they were hives, & i'm racking my brain to figure out what had i came in contact with that i may be alkwrgic to, nothing. I had not started taking any new medicine or tryed a new skin product, or ate a new food, i'm not used to eating. That night we got back to late to changw rooms or have thevstaff inspect that room, the day of checkout, yesterday, my husband has bumps too. It did'nt occur to us until after we checked out & left m, that the dann motel might have BED BUGS! YUCK! Since i've never ever seen, lived with, or been bitten by a bed bug in my freakin life, i wouldn't know what the signs are. It wasn't until we stopoed by to tell my mom goodbye before leaving town, that my mom looked at those bumps, & said they looked like bed bug bites! She had watched an episode on the news where a motel somewhere had bed bugs, & they were interviewing guests who were bitten & angey. Checkout was just yesterday, & we just just arrived baxk to our home town this morning. But i will tell you this, if my home ends up with those terrible bugs, because they got into our things at the motel, i'm hiring an attorney to sue the place! I have heard it cost a lot to get your belongs treated with that high heat to kill them, & somerimes it takes 2-3 times, & not to mention your landlord will be wanting to put the rentors out, & it was the negligence of a hotel..that's not fair! Do we get a refund for our stay??!! My husband says he knows better than that. My opinion is they know they have a bedbug problem & they're still putting people in there! The way i read on google this morning, bed bugs sread out, it would be rare to only be in one motel room, & not a few to many more. Folks, don't stay here. You don't want to take bed bugs from this motel back to your home& end up having to throw all of your belongings away, or pay for expensive treatments, & in the meantime, you're out of your home! It's just not fair. If my home gets infested, trust me, i won't stop calling or writing them, until they refund my Husband, Clarence Hynes, his money!!. We were at the end of a 7 Hour Dr. and I called and booked this room. I was quoted a price of 121, no shock but when I got there it was $150. The man at the desk was really nice and very professional and after I explained to him what happened he went ahead and corrected the price. Anyway we made some small talk and I asked him hey, I know this is a local hotel and a lot of kids hang out here, do you have a nice room that’s quiet that my family and I can get a good nights sleep and not worry about hearing a racket. He assured me that he had a nice clean room and business class that we would be really comfortable in. Well as you can see from the photos the room was dirty, the toilet seat was filthy, the sink was blocked, the bathtub was dirty, and the beds were twin size and not enough to accommodate two adults. I went to the desk and he kindly refunded my money after trying to offer me another room which I did not accept because I told him that I already asked you when I arrived to please make sure you give me a nice, clean, quiet room where I can have a family spend a nice night and you did not do that. This is definitely a blemish on the Wyndham name, if #WyndhamResorts would like to contact me about my review I’ll be very happy to talk to you. Run, run, run AWAY from this place. The website: NO LIGHT BREAKFAST, barely coffee, no creamer, 1 cup, no lids, only powdered creamer with a broken in lid; breakfast room stocked with boxes, couldn't even sit in there. NO COFFEEMAKER in the room as advertised, BROKEN refrigerator in room even though it is advertised on website; towels had BLACK MARKS on them. I was told they were washed and couldn't help it that the black marks wouldn't come out. NO REMOTE in room, bedspreads very dirty so we threw them on the floor and went downstairs to get our own blankets and got our beach towels to dry off from the shower. The carpeting had not been vacuumed in forever, the floors had not been mopped, there was no extra toilet paper, the FIRE ALARM WAS DISADLED, Removed from the ceiling and put on a shelf, dead flies in several places in the room including on the bathroom counter and window sill. THIS PROPERTY IS VERY RUN DOWN, LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURE, and there are very questionable people smoking all over the place outside everywhere. I was given different names of managers, have emailed and called and never received a response. I ONLY stayed because I had driven many hours, checked in just after 10 p.m. so it was dark and couldn't see the condition of the property, it was pouring down rain and I was exhausted. All I wanted was a room to sleep in with a coffeemaker and a light breakfast AS ADVERTISED and couldn't even get that. Worst...
