I love the Meymandi. We go to the North Carolina Symphony concerts at Meymandi frequently. The staff is wonderful and helpful! There is plenty of seating available for people with mobility issues--be sure to let the staf know, and you can have an option of tickets. The restrooms are always spotless. The sound is "live," which means there is not much echo. At times, the full orchestra will somewhat overpower a soloist. If you wear hearing aids, you should be able to sync them to the mics in the hall. It can get very dark, including between the inner and outer hall doors during a concert, so if you have a small light handy it might help if you have night vision issues. From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless and memorable. The orchestra brought Williams’ iconic scores to life with breathtaking precision and emotion—every note felt like a cinematic journey.
What truly elevated the evening was the exceptional staff. When we discovered someone had taken our seats, the employees didn’t just resolve the issue—they upgraded us to even better seats with kindness and professionalism. Their attentiveness and hospitality made us feel genuinely cared for.
This wasn’t just a concert—it was an experience. If you ever get the chance to see the NC Symphony perform, especially a program as legendary as John Williams’ music, don’t hesitate. It’s a night you...

One woman told me to put my items in a plastic tray and when I picked it up the man in charge yelled at me to put it down and “why won’t you listen to my directions!” It was a lousy way to enter the building and ruined my experience within 10 feet of entering the building. I am a teacher and this was for high school graduation practice so I struggle to understand why they are treating guests worse than the TSA. If you are the staff in charge of these front of the house, people don’t take my word for it, watch them act terribly to...
