PayMore - Buy, Sell & Trade Electronics — Attraction in Raleigh

Going into the store, I had a good experience. Nice people, my girlfriend and I were greeted well. I even had a nice conversation with the gentleman at the counter. The only thing I didn't like was what I was offered for the merchandise I was selling. I knew some of the items I wouldn't get much for but the offer I was given seemed out of range for me. To give you specifics, I brought two cameras, one Canon T3i with the original lens (18-55mm) with a resell value of about $200-250 (it's an old camera), one Nikon D3500 with original lens (18-55mm) with a resell value of about $350-400 (not as old of a camera but it is more of an entry level DSLR photography camera) , AF-S 18-300mm VR lens with a resell value of about $325-350, AF-S 55-200mm lens with a resell value of $80-90, and a 50mm 1.8 lens with a resell value of about $80-90. Now I understand how the market works, I go to a store that buys, sells and trades electronics, you'll have to settle for less money because they also need to make money when they resell it. Adding the lowest margin amount of resell it comes to $1,035. Now, like I said, I understand how the market works. I obviously don't expect to walk in and come out with $1,000. But for you guys to tell me the highest offer you could give me was $480 is kind of insulting. I didn't even think I would get $700 for my equipment, but no way was I going lower than $600.

I also had a conversation with the gentleman about a camera they had at the store. He said that I could get store credit from the stuff that I brought to partially pay for the camera. The camera they have is a Sony a7s mark 1 (body only) that is currently going for $500 at the highest and they are selling it for $650. I asked the gentleman if he would do an even trade just to see what he would say. At first, he didn't seem like he would make that deal happen until he looked into it further on the computer. After that, he was more than happy to do an even trade. I told him I would think about it. He seemed pretty confident that I wouldn't get a better offer. He even recommended that I go to Peace Camera store down the street in confidence as if I wouldn't get a better offer. I go to Peace Camera store and their original offer to me was $575 and I talked them into doing an even $600. So, if you're trying to sell your camera equipment here, I wouldn't...

I will not be returning here. The environment is awkward, with no music or anything. I sat my devices down and brought a gaming mouse with me to see if I could sell it. The person asked me questions about my device, such as what games I played and where did I play my games; once I answered the questions, they would return to their computer screen with no explanation/walk of what they were looking at or why the questions were being asked.

Finally, they pushed my device back towards me and said it was lifting due to overheating, but what price was I looking for? I told them, and they said no, they could not offer me a price I would be satisfied with. So I asked what they would take it for. No answer. They just responded, "Not a price you would be happy with." Very unprofessional you can't give a customer a straight answer. So I asked about my gaming mouse, which they NEVER acknowledged, and they instantly said, no, I've seen this generation before, so we would not be able to take it.

I will never revisit this business, nor any other Paymore store. Be more professional. Be more precise on your website. Also, how they respond to customers in these reviews is a huge red flag; get your...
