Who doesn't love a safe and colorful playground for kids? This park has something for kids of all ages. It was recently renovated from just a park and walking path to the "Community Play Station". There is plenty of room for all kinds of group games such as soccer, football (American), tag, Easter Egg hunting and more. There is a shelter with tables for gatherings with food and trash cans for the trash afterwards.
If you like tennis or softball there are several tennis courts with lights and a ball field with lights. To use the softball field you will need to reserve it through the City Parks and Rec.
The playground for the kids is designed with Face-the-baby swings. These are the kind where the parent can swing with the child face them rather than being behind the child pushing. The play area is designed to meet the needs of children with special needs so they are able to be included in playtime too. It is also ADA compliant.
So here's the real question. Why aren't you out here playing instead of sitting here reading the screen?? Come on! It's your turn to...
Read moreLove this park! Playground, 1/2 mile paved loop, lots of trees for shade, green field
When the playground is not “broken” it’s great for kids 4\5+. My child is 3 so it’s a little big for her but she loves it too, plus swings.
1/2 mile loop is fantastic for walking/running. Not so great for biking as it can be bumpy and it’s pretty short. Definitely not for roller blading as ground is not cement.
Field is pretty much always empty but pretty well maintained and grass doesn’t get too long. Lots of trees to provide shade for a picnic. Plus there is a covered picnic table pavilion and bathrooms.
Tennis courts just repaved and looking super nice. Redoing baseball/softball field.
I WISH there was a sidewalk to get there from the fire station/police training area. We walk along there with a stroller and have to be careful with cars. Other than...
Read moreThe park itself is huge. The playground is a little old for my toddlers but it's very nice and very tall. The spiral tunnel slide is big enough for an adult to go down with a two year old in your lap (4 times). The platforms have a lot of fun access points for older kids to go up or places for smaller kids to fall off. I went up with my kids to keep them safe as it wasn't crowded. There's a covered picnic area with tables and bathrooms too. I didn't go in the bathrooms but my wife was unimpressed. The coverage for the picnic tables is important because there isn't much shade over the playground. Maybe when the leaves come in the spring it'll be better but it was pretty bright when we went. If your kid doesn't feel like climbing or sliding they can also play in the trees between the platfro and ball fields. Overall...
