I'm not sure WHY the chef was being difficult when I ordered a Lunch Bento box teriyaki chicken. It literally comes with Chicken, rice, and soup. This man was very upset I ordered two bento boxes, and told his wife it would take him OVER 40 MINUTES to cook teriyaki chicken. The restaurant only had two people inside, and one of them already had food. Chicken doesn't take that long. I'm 100% sure their rice would have already been made. Same with the soup. So I'm not understanding why it would take FOURTY MINUTES to make a chicken bento box?? They close for business at 2pm. I came to order around 1pm. So essentially, the food I ordered wouldn't be ready until just before they closed. I'm not sure what you(reading this) define good customer service as, but I'm pretty sure I got TERRIBLE customer service as this establishment basically refused my money by not out right saying it, but by giving an UNREASONABLY ridiculous time frame for food that takes only minutes to cook. The wife seemed like she was trying to encourage him to make my order faster, so he told her fine, he'd make my bento box in 30 mins; still an aggresiously long amount of time for 'LUNCH' food. I personally will not patronize this restaurant ever again. I'm usually not one to say, 'Oh, because of the color of my skin,' but I think we all know chicken cooks in 10-15mins, so slapping a 40min time frame on SIMPLE food makes me believe my business simply was NOT wanted. And thus, I...

I do not normally review my experience at places in a negative way but this was a solid, three star. I am going to write this review though. I brought a friend out to lunch and while I was waiting, I ordered some sake, but they do not have an alcohol license so there is no sake available or any other alcohol the lady told me. That was fine, so I ordered some green tea, the green tea came in a mason jar with a handle. OK that’s fine, there are many great reviews on this place so I started looking at the menu which looked very confusing and had a lot of cream cheese in the sushi rolls. I ordered some vegetable tempura and that came and it was fabulous. My friend ordered a deep fried sushi roll which she had never heard it before and she ordered another roll and I ordered a sushi roll with spicy tuna. My friend had a sprite. I ordered some rice and the waitress suggested sushi rice, but it wasn’t the sticky rice, it was mixed with some very tiny, minced things and spices, we couldn’t pick up the rice, with chopsticks. We were there for quite a while and the waitress told us she needed to check out so we figured that she was done with her shift. She said we could stay as long as we wanted. Another guy came in and told us to leave and that they close at two. we gladly left and did not want to inconvenience them. $80 later we were on the park bench visiting in front of the restaurant. I just don’t know what to say and I’m sorry to do...

Do not waste your time with this place. This place was my favorite location for sushi and I was a very frequent customer even when it used to be housed on falls of neuse Rd. Until, one night I ordered take out --- the volcano roll (as I always do on Friday nights) and came home with long STRANDS OF HAIR in the roll and my side salad. I drove 15 minutes BACK out there only for them to try and accuse me that it was my hair -- I'm Afr.Am. with braids. As I waited for several minutes for an explanation and refund, I REALIZED, that the young teen girl / hostess' hair matched the hair i found in my food. And the one who gave me my food at pickup. The manager had No DECENCY TO speak with me but had some other person come out to reluctantly refund my money with NO APOLOGY. DO NOT GO HERE. I'm not one to de-fame a business but this was alt-right BAD BUSINESS.

In response to the owner: You did have a young teenage girl working that night. I am not a liar. Its disappointing to have you as the owner be incredibly dishonest. My Story is True, and I have no issues to filing to claims court about the poor experience I went through at your establishment. You should have stopped at the apology. But my standards are sub par for this business, and I expected this kind...

To be fair, this was my first time ordering at this restaurant. I ordered togo about 45 mins before closing. Based on reviews, I'm pretty sure I just ordered a less popular dish that isn't made often (or came on the wrong day). Chirashi is my go to for most sushi places; it is essentially a sashimi combo on rice. It wasn't the worst, but it fell short of the standard of most places. I would say most places typically give about 1:1 or 1:1.5 protein to rice. Close to $30, I would expect at least 12oz of toppings . This was around 10oz toppings and 32oz of rice (1:3). 75% of the volume was rice and iceberg lettuce. For comparison, the place across capital blvd would almost be 50% more toppings and half the amount of rice. The service was very friendly. Will give another chance.

Went here on a whim while on a date and we were not disappointed. First thing was very comfortable decor and feeling of the layout inside, it looked fairly authentic. They have a Japanese and Korean mixed menu, but we only ordered Japanese food, with no complaints. The fish in our sushi was extremely fresh and prepped well, the miso soup I got with my meal was not too strongly flavored like it can be sometimes, and the eel bowl I bought was perfectly cooked. It was a bit expensive, but well worth the taste. If there would be one complaint I have is that there was only a single wait staffer on a Saturday afternoon/evening, but that is minor. Will definitely come again if I'm in the area.

I regret being swayed by the good reviews. I was in the area and wanted sushi, so I dropped in for a quick bite. I ordered two specials. Instead of proper rolls, I got a mound of rice covered in various sauces with a tiny amount of fish. All of this was generously “enhanced” with crab sticks—both inside and on top. It was terrible. To be fair, they only charged me for one, which I appreciate. Still, that didn’t do anything to improve my impression of the visit.
