As Christmas approaches, here's the holiday shopping schedule for the RTP (Research Triangle Park) area in North Carolina.

I really do, genuinely enjoy going to this mall. It’s always a great experience, the architecture is timeless. I’ve been coming to this place since it opened in 2002 (since I was a baby). Mainly with my parents who lived nearby when the mall first opened. It’s just as fresh as the day it opened in my eyes (call it a deep seated nostalgia lol). The store selection is pretty good, not great but good. I think management should try to find a good tenant to occupy the vacant Sears anchor structure as that’s been dark since 2021 or so. I think it would really help to further up the occupancy rate at Triangle Town Center! That, and more events to bring people to the mall! Another area that needs some serious attention is The Commons, the outdoor shopping space just outside the Upper Level entrance with that fantastic glass-covered atrium. I don’t remember when that place was hoppin’ but, as of December, 2024. It’s a sad site. Lots of vacant storefronts, looking more and more abandoned with every new visit. Outdoor shopping seems to be in these days, I think with some new tenants, The Commons could flourish, especially with all of the surrounding shopping centers around. The Creekside Café is cool, though they filled the exterior water feature in front of the Lower Level entrance. Kinda destroys the “Creekside” vibe lol. But that cafe always seems to be busy, just about every time that I go. Bummer that McDonald’s left, maybe something just as business intensive could move in? Also, who doesn’t love a cup of Auntie Anne’s pretzel bites from the Upper Level store while you walk around inside Dillard’s, Macy’s, Belk’s, or Barnes & Noble?

If I could leave less than one star I would. This mall is extremely discriminatory against disabled individuals. I went shopping with a couple friends and our service dogs and the whole time one particular security guard followed us around. Standing on the second story watching us eat at the food court, following us as we walked around the mall, and stopping wherever we stopped. He was looking down on us because we are disabled. one friends service dog let out one bark after another customer approached him and got in his face and he was corrected and it did not happen again and that same security guard immediately came out of the doorway he was standing in and got belligerent, yelling at us that dogs are not allowed to bark per mall policy. We tried to inform them that their information was incorrect and that service animals per the ADA(Americans with disabilities act) are allowed to bark as a task(ie. the dog barks to alert to their handlers heart rate or a seizure). We even stated that in this particular instance, he made a mistake but they needed the correct information in the future in case a dog did bark to alert and they attempted to kick them out. The guard continues yelling at us, and it was evident that he had anger issues/other problems at home that spanned beyond us being there. He immediately radioed us in and went down a hall to try and get his emotions in check before returning to argue with another guard. They then sent 5 guards to talk to us and they were all equally uninformed. The problem was not the fact that they were uninformed, we have all been ignorant to things that we don’t understand at one point. It was the fact that they were not willing to listen to people who deal with this on a daily basis and actually accept that they may be wrong. Also, he referred to our dogs as emotional support dogs, which if he knew anything about the law, then he would know that ESAs do NOT have public access rights and would need to be removed from an establishment. Maybe he assumed they were emotional support animals because our disabilities were not visible? We all know what assuming makes you… I will attach some screenshots of the Ada law In this review and urge management to update their policies to match the federal law as to avoid any lawsuits in the future.

Triangle Town Center is not a large mall. It's more of a urban shopping center. There are a few department stores like Dillard's, Saks 5th Avenue, Belk, and Macy's. They have a Barnes & Noble, PINK, Victoria's Secret, Spencer's and Encore Shoes. Several small boutiques, athletic sports stores and famous chain sneaker stores(Champs, Footlocker). This is the reason I label this a "Urban" mall is because of all the street apparel stores. If you're looking for high end luxury designer shoppes like Lululemon, Nordstrom, Louis V., you won't find that here. At all. This is a decent mall to stroll through for a walk or if you need to pick up something quick while in the area. Some of the stores are small businesses just paying rent and not very popular. I have enjoyed shopping at Spencer's, DTLR, Foot Locker, Hollister, PacSun, Macy's, BELK. I mostly shop this mall for my preteen. It is so convenient when in the area, to stop by and shop quickly. Parking is effortless. I hope they can renovate this mall rather quickly. It has soooo much potential to be better. It’s been years and no changes. With all the new luxury apartments in the area, shopping should be top tier here ! Please do something about the funding. The food court does not offer many options. Cinnabon,Aunt Annie’s Pretzels 🥨 Chick FilA, Sinowok Chinese buffet, a Japanese hibachi bar, A Latin restaurant, Mexican food, Sabarro Pizza, Charley’s Cheesesteaks. That’s all folks. I dined at the ChickFila and it was a terrible experience. My food was undercooked. I frequent the Chinese buffet Sinowok. The food is consistently good and the large portions are affordable to share with someone else. Customer service is excellent.

I always thought this mall was a bit empty and run down because of the covid season. Nope, turns out it's the mall management. I like to bring my kids here to play in the interior play area, but it's absolutely disgusting. I've complained (or tried to) to the mall management that there is trash and debris in the kids play area on more than 1 occasion. The rude lady wouldn't answer any of my questions or see me in person but just yelled at me over the intercom that they would send someone to clean it up. That was 2 months ago, and the same trash is still sitting on the floor and seats that was here when I visited in September. God only knows if someone has ever cleaned it in years. It's honestly a health hazard. I've talked to the security officers as well and they told me anything you tell to management just falls on deaf ears. That's so sad. This mall has the ability to be really nice. But it's terrible. It's dirty as heck and retail keeps leaving because people don't want to be here. They don't have a single Christmas decoration up. They just don't care.
