We booked the treasure island room and paid $70 for 2 people. When we arrived, we instantly knew it was going to suck. One single hallway with each “themed” room on either side. The rooms were probably 10x20, so not big. The worker asked if we really wanted to do treasure island, because it was apparently super easy so we switched to Escape from Alcatraz. When I saw the room, I asked in a very nice way if it was possible to get a refund. The worker kindly refused but asked why, I told her it was not worth $70 and she agreed and stated “if I owned an escape room it wouldn’t look like this”. I kid you not, I could not stop cringing when we walked in. When I say the props, atmosphere, design, backstory, and effort was a joke I MEAN IT. The rooms all looked like the props were purchased from Dollar Tree and there was a lack of sounds, lights, atmosphere, or anything. The walls didn’t extend to the ceiling so you could hear everything around you, which made you even more timid to get into the game. The puzzles themselves weren’t awful, but the lack of atmosphere and effort put into it made them seem worse than they were. It felt like we were in an office building 😂 The worker (I forgot her name) was super helpful and tried her best to make us have a good time. We got a free picture and made the most of the night, and I wouldn’t take it back solely from the time spend with my wife laughing and making fun of the place, but I will not be back. This place is so clearly a “minimal effort” cash grab and $70 is an outrageous price to pay. I’m baffled that the reviews of this place average out at 4.8 stars.

I'm a heavy escape room fan. This has to be the most disappointing experience. They have one room so and it's open. You can focus on anything because you here the people in the room next to you. I paid 125 for nothing. No interactive setting, no music, no nothing. The room we were in was redone. Guess what they still had old clues from the previous version. We waisted 25 mins doing old clues. The girl told us o my goodness I had no idea that was still there. Do you know she did not give us any time back neither a refund. She said let me get those clues down so no one else will go through what yall just went through. Then she blatantly told us her experience of being confused when she played the room. To make matters worse we were almost complete had she gave us our time back at least 15mins we would have easily opened the last 2 locks. The customers asked us our experience we told them everything she's telling everyone in the lobby she's going to fix it. That's nice that players now have their real chance but we did not. I will be making a complaint to management and corporate. The rooms are terrible just a few props but no real decorative to make you feel like your in a different environment. Do not go!!

Had a great time with Vanessa and Nicole!! I got tickets for my birthday and didn’t have a chance to use them until today and it was well worth it! We did the stage 2 Sherlock room and it’s 50 minutes but it you finish early they let you use the remaining time to try to complete stage 4 which I think is awesome! We finished with 14 minutes and ended up completing stage 4 with 4 minutes left. There’s a green screen room at the end if you win and you take pictures with props about your room. Also! You get unlimited hints so don’t stress if you think you’re bad at escape rooms. It was a great experience and worth the trip. I also sneaked a peek at a different room and they are super intricate with props in the room. They are well put together and fit the scenario you’re figuring out. Thank you Nicole and Vanessa you guys were awesome! You also get to test the locks out before you go in. Also convenient hours for people who work and go to school and the mall is right there what’s not to like.

I cannot believe this place is even open. Our party of 6 paid $190 and walked into a bright 20x10 office room that didn’t even have walls that reached to the ceiling. Everything inside was sparse and worn. The posters on the walls were curling at the corners and torn. There were 2 cheap pieces of furniture total in the room. There were visible smudges of dirt from customer handprints on the edge of the hollow door that did not have a lock, leading into the hallway. We looked at each other and wondered if this was a joke. My 13 year old daughter asked the very nice and attentive host if there was more than 1 room. He answered, “No.” When I tell you this looked like someone had purchased an “escape room game” from a store and taped the items to the wall, I mean that it is worse than what you could imagine. We could not pretend to enjoy ourselves knowing we had paid nearly $200, so we walked out before beginning and asked for a refund. This is where it got even worse. The very nice young woman at the front said that she would call her manager since she was not authorized to process refunds. She stepped outside and spoke to her manager and told us that “Her manager would call [me] on Monday.” I explained that I was from out of town and was uncomfortable with that offer and asked if I could speak to the manager directly. She said that her manager was on vacation. I said that if her manager could manage to talk to her employee, surely she could speak to her unsatisfied customer or give authorization for a refund. She went outside to call again and after five minutes returned saying she couldn’t reach her. After watching her speak on the phone through the floor to ceiling front windows, we did not believe her and were even more offended that her manager had clearly told her to tell us that she couldn’t be reached- and that they thought we would believe that?? Do not waste your money. I do not know how anyone could be satisfied with this place. It was offensive to our...

I want to say firstly that the staff was absolutely wonderful. This would be 5-Stars if I was only reviewing the young woman that helped us. She was postive, charming, kind, and very helpful when she had multiple rooms full and seemed to be the only person working.

As an Escape Room, that was nearly $30 per person, however, it was severely disappointing.

I have been to many, many escape rooms. Our friend group really enjoys them and we've played many around the Raleigh area. This was, by a massive margin, the worst experience we've had.

When we entered it was a large open space using thin office walls to create each room, as such you could hear all of the other people in every other room. The room was not at all immersive, with incredibly sparse decorations and mostly just wall decals.

We selected the room with the most difficulty, with only 18% of people completing, and it took my friend group less than 30 minutes to finish. We didn't even realize we had finished the game, when the host walked in and told us that it should have had a video explaining that we finished, but that wasn't working. It was such a disappointing way to spend our time.

The clues were literally just pieces of paper with a straight forward clue that opened a box that had the next clue. Four or five of the same boxes with clues that were barely related to the theme. Nothing felt like we were unraveling a mystery or playing at a well thought out game. Instead it could have been a boardgame we completed at home.

For the cost, I'd never recommend this place if you're looking for an escape room. NERD or Game on Cary offer truely immersive, challenging, and engaging games that feel well...
