I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Lechon Latin BBQ in Raleigh, and it was a culinary journey that left me thoroughly impressed. Located conveniently at the Triangle Town Center, just across from Barnes & Noble, this gem of a restaurant offers a dining experience like no other.

First and foremost, the menu here is a treasure trove of choices. With an extensive list of options, including dishes prepared in their open flame brick oven and rotisserie, it's a food lover's paradise. From rotisserie chickens to crispy cuero (skin) choices, and a mouthwatering selection of beef, pork, and chicken, there's something for every palate. The Latin twist on burgers and the delicious tacos, wings, and flatbreads are not to be missed.

One delightful surprise was the fried tostones - a fritter made from plantains that's fried to crispy perfection and expertly seasoned. It's a unique and flavorful treat that I couldn't get enough of.

The homemade sauces, particularly the AJI Verde and AJI Amarillo, were absolute standouts. They added the perfect amount of zing to the dishes. Don't miss the empanadas, rice bowls, and their delectable desserts either.

What truly sets Lechon Latin BBQ apart is their ready-to-go family meals. It's such a convenient concept, allowing you to take home a whole chicken, a pound of pork, ribs, sausages, and more for a complete family feast.

During my two-day stay in Raleigh, I had the opportunity to witness the dedication to freshness and quality as everything was made from scratch. The pork and crispy skin were a revelation, and the steak sandwich was a flavor-packed delight.

Parking is ample, and for those using public transport, there's a bus stop conveniently located nearby. The staff here are incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant's modern, clean, and tastefully decorated interior lends a high-class feel to your dining experience.

In summary, Lechon Latin BBQ is a must-visit. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to try this place soon. It's a testament to exceptional Latin cuisine and a dining adventure you...

Lechón Latin BBQ & BAR – Visit on 06/29/25

I truly do not understand the hype around this place. My husband and I visited for the first time today, and to our surprise, it was a completely disappointing experience.

We ordered the Family 1LB Roasted Pork with two large sides: arroz con gandules and potato salad. Not only was the food overpriced, but it was also not fresh at all. We were charged an extra $4 for one of the sides, only to receive cold, undercooked food. • The rice was mushy, watery, and lacked any flavor or color. • The pork was cold and had no freshness. • The potato salad tasted old, like it had been sitting for too long.

It was clear the food had not been freshly prepared—it tasted more like leftovers that were simply reheated.

We also noticed that the menu photo shows pork with crispy skin, which we were looking forward to. Instead, we received regular roast pork without skin. When I asked the server about it, I was told we’d have to pay an additional $3 for the pork skin—which was not mentioned anywhere on the menu. That’s misleading and left us very disappointed.

I spoke with Mr. Sergio, who was polite and did issue a full refund, which we appreciated. However, we didn’t come looking for a refund—we just wanted a good, fresh, and flavorful meal. We don’t mind paying for quality food, but this did not meet expectations in any way.

Suggestions: • Make the menu clearer and more transparent, especially about what’s included and what costs extra. • Improve food quality and freshness—nothing should be served cold or tasting like leftovers. • Be upfront about charges, especially when it comes to items shown in the menu photos.

This was not the kind of first impression we hoped for, and unfortunately, we won’t be returning unless major improvements are made.

P.D

To make things worse, there was a pricing discrepancy on the menu: it said there would be a $2 upcharge for arroz con gandules, yet we were charged $4, and the server explained it was because we received a “double/larger side.” That should have been made clear up front, but it...

Everything here is delicious. It's a 40 min drive for my husband and I but anytime we are around triangle THIS is the place we go. Everything is priced reasonably, the portions are nice and big and filling, and I haven't had a single thing not be absolutely fantastic. Husband is a burger man and the burgers here are freaking awesome. The fries slap too. He always does a little shoulder dance when they food tray comes our way.

I am a taco and elote girl and let me tell you these guys nail flavor. The tacos are freaking delicious. They come with white rice and black beans and the beans are a 10/10. You go to an average spanish restaurant and the beans are beans, but HERE the beans stand out. You can taste the broth they were cooked in and the onion and cilantro. The flavor is just next level when it comes to restaurant beans.

I always get an extra side of the elote salad. I HIGHLY recommend it if you are a fan of street corn or corn in general. If Elote is at an event i always buy one for each hand and go to town, that's how much I love corn. The elote salad here is the bee's knees. Bright and refreshing and packed with flavor. It is a MUST.

I'm on a mission to try the whole menu, because I know I won't be disappointed no matter what I order. It's so hard to pick one thing because it all looks fantastic so I always end up panicking and just randomly pointing at the menu. Everything has been a hit so far. 10/10. Honestly this place is gas and more people need to stop in when you are around the Triangle Town Center area. Or be like us and just drive there because it's 100% worth it.

It's like someone's grandma is in the back making each dish with love, and we all know grandmas make literally the best food ever. We found out this last visit that they are family owned and you can tell. You can't get this vibe or flavor at a chain restaurant. Go support your local businesses and support Lechon if you love delicious food and...

I recently visited Lechon Latin BBQ Place and I must say it was an amazing experience. The food was delicious, especially the pulled pork, ribs, and chicken which were all cooked to perfection. But what stood out the most was the crispy pork skin that added a unique and crunchy texture to the dish. The BBQ sauce was also extraordinary, and it perfectly complemented the meat. It had a perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess, which made every bite even more enjoyable. What made my experience even more delightful was the service provided by Sergio. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in choosing the dishes that suited our taste buds. He also gave us great recommendations on what to pair the dishes with, which was super resourceful. I also had the pleasure of trying the Cuban sandwich at Lechon Latin BBQ Place, and I must say it was the best I've had outside of Miami. It tasted exactly like how I get in Miami - crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, with the perfect blend of ham, roast pork, Swiss cheese, mustard, and pickles. The flavors of the sandwich were well-balanced and every bite was a burst of deliciousness. I was really impressed by the quality of the ingredients and the care that went into making the sandwich. It was clear that the chefs at Lechon Latin BBQ Place take great pride in their craft. If you're a fan of Cuban sandwiches, you definitely need to try the one at Lechon Latin BBQ Place. It's a must-try item on their menu and I highly recommend it. It's not often that you find a place that can replicate the flavors of a city as iconic as Miami, but Lechon Latin BBQ Place has done just that. Overall, Lechon Latin BBQ Place is a hidden gem that I highly recommend. Great food, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere make it the perfect place for a memorable dining experience. If you're looking for some delicious Latin food, this is the place to go!

Let me start by saying that I'm 100% puertorican raised in Arecibo, PR. With that perspective in mind, I went to this restaurant, not even knowing that it was inside the mall. I just happened to be shopping, got hungry, saw it there and went in. The atmosphere is ok. The restaurant was clean and nice looking. You have to order your food at the counter before sitting down. The menu had alot of choices and the prices were decent, not too high but not cheap either. Had the lechón, (pulled pork), with white rice, red beans and maduros, (sweet plantains). Also ordered a Medalla beer. They gave me a little stand with a number. Asked for the beer to be brought out to my table when the food gets delivered to a table of my choosing. My food came out between 10 and 15 minutes of waiting at my table, not too bad. The employees were very courteous. The pulled pork had a layer of crispy skin on top that was crunchy and tasty. The pork itself tasted great, not bland, spicy hot or salty. Just the right flavor. The sweet plantains were fried but not greasy at all. They were pretty dark, not burnt, which is exactly how I like my sweet plantains to be. Now the rice and beans I did not expect to be the highlight of my entree, but good lord, it was great, tasty and the craziest part is that I hardly even like beans. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody in the Raleigh/Durham area. It is right up there with Carmen's Cuban Cafe in presentation of the food and flavor. It is a tie for me since I've been going to Carmen's for years and I just found out about this place today. The only issue I had is that I wish they had a building of their own and not be in the mall. But then again Cheesecake Factory and PF Chang are in a mall also. Not the same mall though.
