I had the worst experience ever at Malay Jewelers today. I purchased a pendant from them and was assured it came with a lifetime warranty. Within six months, the pendant broke in half—a highly unusual occurrence with gold jewelry.
Upon returning for repairs, I was told there would be a $25 labor fee, two days go by and when I arrived to retrieve the pedant, the manager, Meansoor Hamed, stated the cost had increased to $70. When I raised my concerns about the uncommunicated increase, Meansoor response was unprofessional and disrespectful. He became noticeably agitated, made inappropriate comments, and even threatened to call security despite my composed demeanor. Any request attempts to contact a supervisor were met with excuses about their unavailability.
Ultimately, I agreed to pay to expedite the process, only to be charged $75—more than initially quoted. He did reverse this discrepancy once I pointed it out, I ended up with two charges for a repair that should have been covered under warranty. The repair cost was nearly 40% of the pendant’s value.
I had a horrible experience from this company and it reflects poorly on Malay Jewelers, showcasing a lack of commitment to customer satisfaction and transparency. Additionally, their website terms of service is not displayed on their website and does not mention this warranty so they can deceive customers if anything happens to the jewelry. If you want buyer protection and peace of mind go somewhere else. This company does not stand on their word or place an emphasis on customer satisfaction. They negatively reflect on the triangle town center mall and is racist establishment. I do not recommend this...
