I normally replace my own batteries to my watches - but on that day (3/27/21) I had just noticed my watch battery died and figured it was simple and convenient to have it done there while my family and I walked around the area. It took several hours, but figured they were busy. When the lady checked in my watch, she noted and stated out loud “Oh, it’s a limited edition”. Did not think much of it as I figured I could trust a large franchised shop, especially for something simple like a battery. Just in the past week I noticed my watch was no longer keeping time accurately and would reset my chrono. Thought that was strange since I’ve had that watch for over 10 years with no problems and thought the battery may be getting weak. To my surprise when I opened my case I found my original movement had been stolen! My heart sank and began to shake in fury and sadness. That watch was a very special gift from my wife and was a very limited production watch - #427 of 911. Now I’m at a loss on what to do. I debated confronting directly, calling the cops, making my own sting operation, or retaliating. But, I know all of that would be waisted energy and in the end I still would not have my movement recovered. I honestly don’t know what to do. I’m am beside myself as to how they would have the audacity to do such a thing. I sent a complaint to their corporate website. The store itself is clean, bright, and has many watches and accessories in clear, well-lit displays. But it is the exceptional attention and expertise that I have been served that has made this place my new home! In the past two weeks, they have expertly revived five of my old watches, and they know what they are doing as their knowledge and experience saved me a bunch of money. In one example, I was offered both the OEM strap AND a quality aftermarket strap that is an excellent option for my Seiko, and far less expensive than the manufacturer’s replacement part.
