The WORST experience I have ever had in any store, period. My mother and I purchased a $300 dress for her to wear to my wedding. At the time of purchase, there were 2 things wrong with the dess: some beads falling off, and bottom of the zipper was ripped. We paid in full and they said they will fix it and call us when it's ready for pick-up. I got a call a couple days later saying it was ready to pick up WHENEVER. I went in for pick-up a few days later. The zipper was still ripped. I asked Christina (one of the employees) if they could fix it. She rudely responded that the zipper is supposed to be ripped and they left it like that intentionally. (seriously?!)
I insisted that I need it fixed. She said it would take a week. This is were the rudest employee ALEXANDER GOVI walked in and started raising his voice at me, saying that their tailor doesn't have time for this and if I came in sooner in the week this problem wouldn't have happened (what? does that even make sense?) Then he RIPPED the dress out of my hand and walked out of the store. When he came back I told him that his behaviour is disrespectful and he started YELLING at me in front of other customers, getting very close to my face as if he wanted to physically attack me. Then I told him that I couldn't come earlier in the week because I am sick and he can tell from my voice. He said in response "I don't know you, I don't care if you are sick, I don't care about your voice and your face."
I tried calling the other store location to get in touch with the owner Maria, but I was told she is on vacation for a week and that they are not supposed to give me her phone number.
The owner of the tuxedo store across the street, John, is a very nice person. I walked over there, told him what happened, and he asked me to write everything down and leave my phone number and he will mail it to Maria, the owner of the dress store. I wrote down that I would like to return the dress for a full refund because I refuse to give a store business that disrespects customers like this. I will update if I get a response back.
Honestly, I have never been disrespected like this in my life before. I am going to FILE A POLICE REPORT today for ASSAULT and try to make sure this guy gets fired. NO ONE deserves to be treated like I was specially after I paid $300 in...
Read moreRusso was unfortunately a disaster from the start.
Called a week ahead to make a fitting appointment. Showed up to sheer confusion from the staff, even though nobody else was there. Had to stand around for 20 minutes before anyone helped us. The whole fitting was pretty unprofessional and were rushed out.
-Had to call 3 times to get a receipt. Glad I did because we were then overcharged at pickup. They decided to “upgrade” the suits and then charge us more for them, even though we didn’t want it. In their defense, they did refund us that bit, but it was another hassle to get that done.
-Hem on the pants came undone on the first try on. We had a third party pick up the suits, which I guess was the wrong move, because we could have sorted that out on pickup. We were not told that we all had to come back for pickup. They later claimed they told us that….they did not. I’ll chalk that up to half our fault, but also poor craftsmanship on theirs. They offered to fix it, but didn’t have time to go back.
-Picked up 3 suits. 2 had 5 studs, 1 had four, with the last button clearly showing. Maria said this was standard? Made no sense because we were all around the same size. I think they just missed one. Ended up just buying another to avoid going back again.
They charge a fee for using a credit card. This is illegal in the state of Massachusetts .Similarly, they have posters asking not to mark Venmo and Zelle transactions as business related. Clearly to skirt tax reporting.
-I called in to let them know about the tough time we had. I was greeted by Maria yelling about their “busy season” and it not being their fault. She was a real class act .
-Left it at 2 stars because Rick seemed like a pretty nice guy and heaped us out for swapping out a shirt. Doesn’t seem like the rest of the team had any idea what was going on. One woman needed a calculator compute 3 x 30.
Fully expecting their standard response of “we can’t believe you are slandering our business”. I wouldn’t have written this review if Maria simply acted with courtesy when calling in to discuss our concerns.
Overall, I’d steer clear to...
Read moreMy name is Betty and I run a program in Amesbury, Ma called Tammi's Closet. I give away free prom gowns to girls in memory of my daughter who died in 1996. One mother came into Tammi's Closet with her daughter to get a dress. She was telling me her son is surpose to be going to the same prom, but he could not go because she can not afford one. I told her to go to a tux place near her and get him one and Tammi's Closet would pay for it for her. She was crying and very happy. She called me and told me she went to Russo's Tux in Chelsea and was helped by John Saunders. I called him and talked to him and explained who and what I do. He asked me to call back the next day because he was busy. I did and if all my phone calls were that great it would make my life easy. John was very polite, he told me he read about Tammi's Closet and I xplained to him I have some funds in my go fund me and I wa hoping he could help me and Zack (the boy) out. Without hesitation he gave me a discount on the tux and I was very happy. Not only did he make me feel good he was kind, he was amazing, he actually enjoyed helping out my cause and for that I am grateful. If all associates were like John, this would be a great world. I will write all about Russo's Tux in Chelsea all over my face book page, all over my Tammi's closet page, also I am going to let everyone know what a fantastic employee you have all ovr Amesbury Talks. I will be sending the girls that get dresses off me to go to Russo's in Chelsea for their dates to get a tux. Hats off to Russo's Tux, you are amazing. Thank you so much...
