Office Depot — Attraction in Redding

Customer support is lacking. I took 3 books in for spiral binding at 11 am first I was told they could only do 1 of them because they didn't have the right size coils for the other two. So I decided to leave the one there, I was told that due to the workload it would not be ready till 4 pm. At 4:15 pm I called to see if it was ready. I was told oh uh no it isn't ready probably an hour but if you want to come in I can do it while you wait. I told her I had plans to be somewhere at 5 and would now have to change those plans, I said I would be there at 5pm and asked if it would be ready, ah I don't know. Customer service means working to HELP the customer not cause them problems. OMG its like if you leave it, it will be done by this time yea right if you leave it, it gets put on IGNORE! and we will do it when the customer complains. I am done with OFFICE MAX / DEPOT what ever the hell you call it. The service SUCKS! Period. When I left there I took the other two books to FEDEX Office, dropped them off at 11:30am they said they would be ready by 1:30pm. I got a call from Fedex Office at 12:30 they said both books were done. NOW that is good...

I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THIS OFFICE DEPOT -0 STARS BUT TO LEAVE A REVIEW THAT'S HOW YOU START. THE EMPLOYEES ARE RUDE, I WENT IN WITH MY MOTHER AND WE'RE NO SPRING CHICKENS "LOL" WE FINALLY GOT SOMEONE TO PICK UP A HEAVY BOX WE SLID AWKWARDLY OFF THE BOTTOM SHELF ONLY A COUPLE OF INCHES OFF THE FLOOR, THEN I WAS TRYING TO SCOOT IT TO GET IT TO CHECKOUT FINALLY A MALE EMPLOYEE TOOK IT TO CHECKOUT FOR US, BUT IN 110° HEAT HE JUST LEFT US THERE AT CHECKOUT TO FEND FOR OURSELVES TO PUT IT IN THE CAR. HAVING A CART WOULD NOT HAVE NOT HELPED, WE WOULD HAVE HAD A LOT OF TROUBLE PICKING IT UP OUT OF THE CART. EVEN THE "YOUNG" LADIES DID NOT OFFER TO HELP. THE BOX WAS BIG AND BULKY AND HEAVY FOR US. I REALIZE IT WAS THE END OF THE DAY RIGHT BEFORE CLOSING BUT OFFICE DEPOT POSTS ITS HOURS OF OPERATION FOR A REASON. A COUPLE OF CUSTOMERS EVEN CAME IN AS WE WERE GOING THRU THE EXIT THEY WERE TOLD THEY WERE STILL OPEN. THE STORE DONT EVEN HAVE A VERY BIG SELECTION OF ANYTHING ANYONE MIGHT NEED. WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE RETURNING AND SUGGEST SHOPPING SOMEWHERE ELSE. I DON'T NORMALLY LEAVE A BAD REVIEW BUT THIS TIME IT WAS...

I went to get an ebook printed. The self serve printing costs were clearly posted. I was able to estimate the cost to print my job. The format was not ideal so I asked the employee if it was possible to format it more like a book instead of 8.5x11 sheets, and she said it was doable. In my mind, I was getting a better product and was using 1/2 as much material (ie cheaper), a win - win! However, they were not equipped with a stapler that could secure my booklet and after doing as best as they could do, informed me that my total was over twice the original estimated cost, and 4x what I’d hoped since I was using fewer sheets.

I assumed that print services would be more than self serve but was paying twice the cost for a substandard product was hard to pay for.

Because I was not informed (either personally or with posted pricing) that the cost was significantly more, I assumed it was only marginally more and would have made a different decision had they informed me of the estimated...
