Hands On Knitting Center — Attraction in Redlands

I had my first experience at Hands On Knitting Center yesterday, and I can't wait to go back. Molly taught a class on knitting plant-based fibers. I was so impressed with all the preparation she did for our hands-on project.There were ten of us in the class, and each member received a bag with 18 sample yarns neatly wound into balls. Each ball of yarn was numbered and corresponded to a direction for a section of the knitted scarf project to take with us. The pattern is designed in 18 sections so we use each yarn and can feel and see how it looks when knitted. We will end up with a beautiful sampler scarf.

I have attended many classes over the years, and this was by far the most fun, the best organized, and the most productive one. The staff is so helpful and knowledgable. The store is beautifully arranged and showcases so many tempting yarns and projects. The whole experience made me want to set up a cot in the back room...

This review is long overdue! I just can’t say enough good things about HOKC! First off I hope all the fiberistas in Redlands can appreciate how lucky they are to even have a LYS and an extraordinary one at that! Some of us have to drive in for the wonderful yarns and classes. All of which change often enough to satisfy any wool crafters wishes! The selection of yarns is awesome. The tools are excellent and the expertise is as broad and varied as the wonderful women who make this place so special! A special shout out of appreciation to Molly, Diane, Kathy, Myrna and especially to Peggy who’s weaving classes opened up a whole new world that I didn’t even know existed with the rigid heddle loom! I can't say enough about my experience at "Hands on Knitting". Sharon, Sue and Molly are some of the best instructors I've ever had. They are patient, kind and always make themselves available to assist you. I've met many wonderful women and feel a strong sense of camaraderie with them as well as with our instructors. I knew nothing about knitting before I came to " Hands on Knitting" and have made a great amount of progress. My knitting classes are part of my weekly routine and always look forward to coming.
